Oops... Did I do that?

Sophia.

It feels so good to be home.

Trailing my hands along the dark wooden frame of the crib in the nursery, I sigh in contentment, feeling the slight grooves in the wood. It's pure bliss really. Finally so close to having my life back to the way I want it and the way it should've been before this... this minor oops Liam has wasted his time on, and I honestly couldn't be happier about it.

A house.

Liam.

A baby.

Aubri is tied and gagged on the nursery floor, still unconscious. That irritates me. She's being dramatic.

I didn't hit her that hard.

Sighing again, rather impatiently this time, I stroll out of the room and make a slow saunter into the kitchen to grab my large bag off the counter top. Zipping it open and doing a mental inventory, I nod to myself.

Gloves? Check.

Scalpel? Check.

Sterilized scissors? Check.

Baby intubation tubes? Check.

Timer.

Blankets and baby clothes? Check.

Now all I need is for Aubri to wake up. So she can feel the pain she's caused me before she dies.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to thank you all for your reading and support of this story. I'm not going to lie, I've known how I wanted to start closing the story out for a while, but I hit a wicked case of writers block. Like, a MASSIVE writers block. Partially due to having four different stories in the works at the same time, but I appreciate you guys being patient while I sorted it all out. Much love- B

... You didn't think I would leave it there, did you? ;)

Sophia (cont.d)

My silent celebration is disturbed by a ringing phone piercing the deathly silence and a slight shuffling before I can hear it quickly being shut off.

She's up.

Creeping up to the nursery door, I can hear her struggling with her bondage and quietly panicking into the phone.

"I don't know. I'm tied up. I- no. I don't know," she's crying and the sound of her genuine fear- it, it fills me with so much joy. Pushing the door open and making my presence known, she gasps as her eyes widen before they narrow. Her disposition now dark.

"You crazy bitch." She growls, shifting herself.

Smirking, I cross my arms over my chest as I take her in. A knot is forming on her temple and there's a thin line of blood crusted on her face. Her hair is wild and her wrists are red, no doubt from fighting the ropes I used to secure her.

I spot the phone finally, the black case hiding the usually light colored iPhone. Glancing at the screen lighting up from the floor, I smile. Snatching the phone up despite her best attempts to cover it with her body, I purr into the sleek device.

"Nothing to worry about love, see you when you get home. The baby and I miss you. Kisses."

Liam screams through the phone as I click to end the call and Aubri's eyes are wide.

"You crazy bitch."

Fed up with her disrespect, I slam her head into the chest of drawers, knocking her out again. Wrapping her body in a blanket, I pull her down the hall and carefully load her into the backseat of my SUV before driving off into the night. Obviously I'm not going to stain the house with this, this sad excuse of a replacement. Liam has to learn that there are consequences to his actions and that he's lucky this one is going to make us the family he always wanted us to be.

Glancing in the rearview mirror at her limp body across the backseat, my eyes briefly graze down her body, checking for abnormalities in her breathing. Nothing will hurt my child. Not if I can help it.

"We've just got to get to this nice place," I coo to her stomach, speaking directly to my baby. "Mama is going to have you out soon so we can see daddy. Be strong baby." Pressing my foot down on the gas, I speed to our destination. Baby or not, this child is not about to stain my new home or car.

Besides, I was never fond of a home birth anyway.
