Quick note- Thanks so much for bearing with me and reading my story. It means everything when you guys ask me to update or tell me that you love the story. I didn't even think that it would get any reads... so this is beyond. Also, I tend not to proofread. I just write and update haha. Ah I may fix a glaring mistake from time to time but i'm back in college now so my time is limited. Finally, I'm trying to be more mindful of responding to comments on the story... so again, bear with me. Thanks again for reading! <3 B

Aubri.

It's funny how things work out sometimes.

We've decided to move after this latest development with Sophia. I hate packing and now we're packing up two apartments. I mentally cringe as I wrap lamps, vases and other glass furnishings in bubble wrap, while looking around the apartment I spent a total of four days in since moving here. It's almost as if i'm in someone else's apartment, I've grown so used to being at Liam's and now he and I are getting an actual place together.

A starter home... Though he alone makes more than enough to buy a final house, it's nice that he's excited to go back to a piece of normalcy with me. Speaking of normal, for us anyway, I've been working from home. It's so much easier to work at my own pace at home and Liam goes with me whenever I have to submit a workload.

Going into my job has also allowed Li time to really get to see what Ashton, Luke, Michael and Calum have been working on and he's just as curious to see what they come up with next. Today when we popped over to the Art department, they were all dressed as turtles.

Such odd boys, those four.

Retreating to the hotel where we've been staying in between packing and putting things in storage, we grab a light dinner before Li has to head out for a night of recording at the studio. Kissing me on the head, he locks the door behind him and I curl up in bed to have a marathon netflix session. My phone vibrates as I'm scrolling through the movie selections.

Chris.

I smile at my cell phone screen before tapping out a message to my personal guard and friend. He gave us quite the scare when a freak accident sliced through his Achilles' heel. I still want to know how it happened. Soap dishes don't just unattach themselves from the wall when they come built in... Besides the fact that I almost passed out from all the blood, its never a fun time to see a grown man cry.

C: So where was my invite? I thought we were friends *fake tears*

A: Haha! I didn't even know myself. How's the foot doing?

C: Pretty well, I can almost put full weight on it again and the doc continously reminds me that I'm so lucky that I got what I got.

A: true.. you could've been a peg leg. Then you really couldn't protect anything but a bag of chips.

C: Ha. You'll pay for that.

A: my abs are quaking in fear already.

C: lol you keep sassing me and I'll give you px90 to do when i'm back.

A: sorry, sorry not the px90. I want to stay in shape, not die trying.

C: Hey, gotta go. My nurse/gf just came over

A: girlfriend?! when did this happen? and you have the nerve to say i'm the bad friend.

C: haha i'll explain later. Love ya poof head. Tell Liam I said what's up

A: Love ya too, will do.

Locking my phone, I set it on the pillow next to me and finally decide on a Bring it On marathon... but first, I need snacks. Heading to the kitchen, I fix a tray worth of movie snacks : grilled cheese sandwich with ketchup and bacon, lays potato chips, perrier sparkling water, pretzels and diced cheese, buffalo soy nuggets. Arranging everything carefully on the tray, I head back to the bedroom and queue up the movie to press play as I take a bite of my sandwich.

A few scenes in, I start to feel a bit clammy, so I pull my hair up into a bun to get some of the room AC on my neck to cool me off. As I continue to eat, everything starts to taste the same and it's getting harder to chew. Finally admitting to myself that the food doesn't taste right, I spit it into a napkin and ball it up, tossing it into the garbage. Pushing the tray away from me proves to be futile, as far as I push the tray, I can still smell the uneaten food and its making my head swim something wicked.

Beads of sweat trickle down my face as strands of hair stick to my forehead. Using the back of my hand to wipe my face, I grab the bottle of perrier and take a swig, trying to wash down whatever it is that has me feeling like this. As soon as the seltzer hits the back of my throat, its coming back up and I clamp a hand over my mouth before running to the bathroom and heaving the contents of my stomach into the toilet.

What did I eat?

Looking under the bathroom sink for paper towel to wipe up spots where I missed the toilet, I notice the box of pads I bought on returning from our honeymoon in anticipation of my period.

My period.

Splashing water on my face and rinsing out my mouth with water, I think about it as I dab my face with a washcloth. Walking back into the hotel bedroom, I unlock my phone and check my calendar; eyes widening as I take in the date.

How didn't I catch this?

My period is a month late.
