Chapter 20

Thalia's POV
Over the course of the next few days, we've been working on securing the camp. We had walls surrounding the entire with a gate which was being watched 24/7. The only thing left for us to do was figure out who we're up against.
I was currently watching Cassie train the other campers and honestly, it was kinda funny. Cassie was absolutely destroying the campers.
"Again," she yelled at the camper she was currently sparing. "Hey Thalia, why don't you spare against her, a camper suggested.
"Sure why not," I said going into the middle of the arena. I pulled out my spear and grabbed a shield while Cassie pulled out a sword and her hidden blade.

"Ready?" She asked me "ready"
Cassie and I circled for a bit before I decided to make the first move. I lunged forward as Cassie side-stepped. As she went with an overhead attack I rolled backward creating distance. This time Cassie charged and I raised my shield ready to block her attack. Cassie kicked my shield which left me open for an attack. I put my spear in front of my body as she swung her sword downward. The force of the swing broke my spear in half. I looked at my weapon in shock before quickly composing myself. This wasn't looking good for me right now. Cassie charged again, but this time she jumped up and kicked my shield away from me leaving me with only my broken spear. I decided to be offensively this time. I charged at her but she sidestepped and kicked the back of my knee, forcing me to the ground. I turned my head around as she kicked me in the jaw. And that blow knocked me to the ground.

I groaned and rolled into my back. and as my vision cleared I noticed Cassie had her sword to my throat "do you yield?" She asked me. I nodded my head and sat up. "That was pretty disappointing, I expected better. I'm pretty sure Percy would be disappointed in that performance too " Cassie said. I stood up and picked up my spear before throwing it at her. Luckily for her, she rolled out of the way before I stomped off. "Thalia Wait! I didn't mean it like that!" Cassie yelled. What she said was very hurtful. I walked into my cabin and slammed the door shut. It didn't help that I was completely destroyed by her, and now she's just rubbing it in. Fuck her then. I was pacing in the cabin when a knock came from the door.

"Thalia, can you open the door?" Cassie asked. "Why should I?," I replied
"I wanted to apologize for what I said, I said it in the heat of the moment and it was uncalled for." I let out a sigh "what you said was really hurtful, and you broke my spear,"
"Well, it's cool now" I was confused "how is it cool now?" "Well Chaos once told me the story on how King Leonidas used a spear and during the battle of 300 his spear broke. It acted like a sword and a throwing weapon at the same time. He was able to throw it with such force that it was able to impale his enemy's" she explained. (anyone gets the reference without looking it up?") "wow that actually does sound cool" I admitted. "I'm glad you agree...now can I come in?" She asked "fine," I said and sat down on my bed.

Cassie opened the door and walked over to me. "So this is the Cabin 1," she said taking a look around the cabin. "Yeah it's really nothing special"
"It's definitely...unique though, " she said sitting down next to me. She handed me my spear and it looked weird. "I can't believe you broke my spear," "Yeah...sorry about that," Cassie said sheepishly. "I'm just amazed, not only did you beat my ass you also managed to break my spear" Cassie opened her mouth when suddenly the cabin shook and an explosion could be heard from outside. Cassie and I looked at each other before running outside. Monsters were running down the hill rushing towards the camp and the mysterious person was holding the golden fleece.
