Chapter 29

Percy's POV
I knew I was hurting them by leaving but it's to protect them. "Embrace the darkness..." the voice whispered. "No I'll never embrace it, I'm going to find a way to get rid of you"
"That's where you're wrong...I'm apart of you now. You can never get rid of me," I hoped this wasn't true. it's been a constant battle between me and this thing inside of me. When it controls me I'm still aware of what's happing but I can't stop it. I've had moments where I finally could control myself but it gets harder each time. I sighed and put my head in my hands. I wish I wasn't like this. I wish none of this happened. I miss my mom so much. I'd give anything to see her and Paul one last time.
I really needed someone right now. I started sobbing quietly into my hands. No one is going to help me. "Yes that's right...no one will save you. They hate you," the voice said trying to provoke me. Maybe the voice is right. No, I can't think like that. people do care about me.

I prayed to Hestia and she flashed in immediately. "Percy..." she whispered and wrapped her arms sound me. "Hey mom," I said with a small smile. "Oh my boy...I've missed you so much," "I've missed you to mom," I said pulling away "where have you been?" "I was being controlled by End. Mom, there's something inside of me and I'm afraid I can't get rid of it," I explained. "Even if it's true you're still my son," "I know mom, but I feel that no one should be around me. We don't know what I'm capable of doing," "no matter what happens I'm certain Thalia, your father and even myself will always be here for you Percy," "Thanks mom, it really means a lot, "
"Anything for my boy," "I think it's time I go back to Thalia, I'll see you soon mom,"
"Ok Percy, promise me you'll stay safe," "of course mom," Hestia smiled and gave me a hug before flashing out. I started walking back when I realized that I haven't seen my father since I found out Maria was my sister. I should see him before I head back to the others. I focused on the water in the air and traveled to Atlantis. 

It's been a while since I've been here it's honestly really nice to be back. A lot of people noticed me and started smiling at me. I waved back which made a bunch of little kids giggle.
When I arrived at my father's palace I stopped with a bright smile. "Welcome back Lord Perseus, shall I tell your father you're here?" A mermaid asked me "Thanks but I want to surprise him uh..." I trailed not remembering her name "Meri" she said giving it "sorry Meri, it's been a long time since I've been here," I said sheepishly "It's fine milord," "Thanks again Meri," I replied and pushed opened the palace doors and walked in. I walked into the main room and saw my dad and Amphitrite talking. I leaned against the wall and watched them for a bit before letting myself be revealed "I hope I ain't interrupting anything important," I said smirking. Both of them looked at me in shock before jumping off their thrones and running towards me. My dad's reaction didn't really surprise but Amphitrite's sure did. They stopped a few feet in front of me. "Percy, is it really you?" My Father asked hopefully "Yeah dad, it's me," I said and hugged him. "I've missed you, my boy, I'm so sorry for everything," he apologized "it's fine dad, I've already forgiven you," I let go of him and turned towards Amphitrite. "Percy I'm sorry for treating you so poorly all these years, I hope we can start over," She said quietly "of course Amphitrite," I said smiling at her which she returned.

"Are staying for a bit or just saying hi?" Dad asked me. "I was just coming to say hi but I can stay for a few hours if you want" I explained "I haven't been the best father recently, and it would make me feel better if you stayed for a little," "then I'll stay for a bit," It was nice that he wanted to spend time with me. We used to be so close before the incident at camp. "That's good to hear my boy," it was about time we repaired our relationship. It was also nice that Amphitrite didn't hate me anymore. We would actually be a family for once. It was really nice.
The 3 of us talked and I told them about chaos and how I'm an assassin for her. They were very fascinated by my stories. Amphitrite eventually left to check on the food so it was just my dad and I. "So you've really been through a lot recently," "Yeah I have, but I heard you've been teaching Maria how to use your powers," "Maria has potential to be one of my stronger demigod children," "even stronger than me?" "I don't think anyone will be, but let's go see if dinner is done, "I nodded and we walked into the dining room. "Oh, I was coming to get you two, dinners ready," Amphitrite told us. "Thank you Amphitrite," Dad replied to her while sitting down.

Dinner was really good. I'd definitely be seeing them very soon. But for now, I have a girlfriend to return to. I said goodbye to my dad and Amphitrite before flashing back to Thalia. When I came back I realized it was night. I decided to visit Maria and Alice first because I knew they were sad about me leaving. I quietly walked into their tent and shook them both awake. When the saw it was me they jumped out of their beds and hugged me. "Don't leave us ever again," Alice said into my shoulder. "Don't worry girls, I'm staying. now try and get more sleep. I'll see you two in the morning," They both got back into their beds and said goodnight before I walked out and headed towards Thalia's tent and went inside. Thalia was asleep on her bed so I kneeled next to her and kissed her forehead. I was about to leave when something grabbed my hand. I glanced and saw that Thalia was awake. "Sorry for waking you," I apologized "it's fine Percy," "I just wanted to say that I'm staying. I'm done ruining my problems" I explained to her "that's nice to hear. I've missed you so much" "I've missed you too," "I love you, Percy," "I love you too Thalia, I'll see you in the morning,"
"Can you stay here? Please" Thalia asked. I smiled and took off my shoes before laying down next to her. Thalia put her head on my chest while I wrapped my arm around her.
