------------ Chapter 9 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After that one glorious night and the welcome back dinner, everything went downhill!
Draco was busy with his duties as Head Boy and was studying his arse off. Every moment I had free, he was busy. And whenever he was free, I wasn't.
Harry, Ron, Hermione, Kate and the rest of my friends were ALWAYS with me. Not that it's a bad thing. But when you want nothing more than to be left alone so you can meet that special someone, you really don't want someone hanging around you.
I bet Ron told all his friends. All the seventh years seem to be going out of their way to make sure I'm always occupied. Always with someone!
Once, I managed to escape the common room, only to be caught in the corridor. What crappy luck!
The only time I got to see Draco was during classes when we met randomly in the corridors or when we spent most of our meal times staring wistfully at each other. We never talked and faked nonchalance when other people were around.
I miss being able to be with him! It's driving me insane!

(Ron's POV)
So far so good. Deidre hasn't had the time to go frolicking with the ferret!
"Weasley!" a sharp, annoying voice greets my ears.
I whirl around only to come face to face with pug-faced Parkinson. "What do you want Parkinson?" I ask, annoyed at being stopped by this annoying brat.
"Can we talk?" she asks.
That's odd! No insults? No crap about dating Hermione? Hmm, attack of the body snatchers much?
"Yeah, sure, I guess," I mumble.
We walk through the corridors and take a flight of stairs up to the fourth floor landing. We seem to be alone, so I turn towards her, raising my eyebrow.
"You seem to be going out of your way keeping the little mudblood away from Draco," she sneers.
"Don't you dare call her a mudblood!" I spit, my wand already at the ready.
"But that away, Weasley! Before you hurt yourself!" she scoffs again. "I think you and I should work together...for the mutual good," she whispers.
"Work together? You and I? Is this some kind of a sick joke?" I ask, incredulously.
"It's...not my favourite idea either Weasel!" she glowers, crossing her hands over her chest.
"Then why suggest it?" I mutter infuriated! Seriously! I don't understand these Slytherins!
"Because you seem to really want to keep that...THING away from my Draco, and I'm dedicated to keeping Draco for myself," she murmurs, jealousy colouring her tone.
"Heh! If I knew it would affect you so bad, I would have hooked them up, Parkinson," I snort, turning on my heel.
"Fine! But you need me, Weasley! I'm more devious than you will ever be!" she screeches.
She's right...maybe with her help, I can show Deidre once and for all Malfoy isn't the right guy for her!
"Fine, speak. But make it quick," I snap.
Pansy grins and walks over to me. She whispers her plan to me...and I have to admit, this will work!

(Back to Deidre's POV)
"De? De?" Harry calls
"Hmm? Oh! Sorry...what was that?" I ask, my cheeks colouring a little.
"I asked if you would be going down to the little town...Hogsmeade?"
"Umm...I guess so," I reply, my mind far from going into the town.
"It will be great. All third years and above can go..." and Harry begins rambling on and on.
And then it strikes me! Hogsmeade! That's the break I need!
I start stomping up and down the common room. Harry and Ginny stare at me like I've gone mad. But eventually Luna Lovegood, this wickedly brilliant girl joins in.
"De?! What is wrong with you?" Harry asks, looking like I've lost it.
"Sorry. I suddenly felt the need to jump. I'm kinda excited about the whole Hogsmeade thing," I admit sheepishly.
"Where will we be meeting in Hogsmeade?" I ask.
"Excuse me?"
"Where will we be going?"
"Umm...I don't know? We could go anywhere you like. It is your first time," Harry shrugs. I think I see a flicker of annoyance in Ginny.
"Sounds brilliant," I thrill.
Thank god for outings!
