------------ Chapter 19 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“So? Are you going to tell me why you spaced out during lunch?” Draco asked, swinging me gently.

We were alone in the little playground near my house. We wanted to talk in private, so I told my parent’s I would be showing Draco around.

I feel my cheeks heat up as I relive the memory. I can’t exactly admit to fantasising about making out with him, can I?

“Deid! You’re blushing! Don’t torture me!” Draco moaned.

“It’s nothing. Can I ask you a question?” I say quickly, trying to distract him.

“You just did,” was Draco’s smart aleck reply.

               “Draco!” I whine.

“Fine. But after I answer your question, you have to tell me what you were thinking about, promise?” Draco bargains, and I nod. What else could I do?! “Then ask away, my pretty.”

               “Draco...have you ever...been with anyone?” I stammer.

“Umm. I was with Pansy, sort of...?” he asks uncertainly.

“Not like that...I mean been...as in done it with someone?” I fumble, my cheeks burning.

               “It?”

“Come on Draco! You’re not making this easy!” I whisper.

“I’m sorry,” he whispers back, stopping the swing. He walks around to squat in front of me. He takes my hand in his and his beautiful grey eyes bore into my eyes. “I’m not trying to make it hard, Deid. I really don’t know what you mean.”

“Sex,” I whisper, barely audible even to myself.

“Oh,” he breathes, his eyes widen a little. “Deid, you realise I’m 18, right?” he asks.

And I feel my heart drop. The tears begin welling in my eyes. He’s 18! For God’s sake what else was I expecting?!

I push Draco out of my way and walk through the playground to the main road. By now the tears are rolling freely down my cheeks.

“Deid?!” Draco calls after me, spurring me to walk faster.

How could I be so dumb?! I should have known that asking such a question would only get my heart broken.

Abruptly I stop at the open field a few blocks away from my house. Draco was following me for a while. But he stopped a few minutes ago. I guess he gave up. Draco knows me well enough that he knows I’ll cool down after awhile. And to his credit he is smart enough to not confront me now while I’m angry.

I plop down, crossing my legs. I close my eyes and think warm thoughts. It’s pretty cold.

“Hey there sexy!” an unfamiliar voice calls from across the road. I don’t bother opening my eyes. No way anybody would be talking to me.

That’s when I feel a presence beside me. I open my eyes to stare into a pair of deep, warm brown eyes. I gasp a little at the proximity. His face is inches away from mine.
