Chapter 1

Chapter 1 Hunger

Today's a cloudy day, which usually results in a cloudy night. This could lead to a great hunt, because I haven't eaten in the past two days. Noboru just came back from the country side and the food he's pack has not satisfied my hunger pains. Sure human flesh is delicious but I had something else in mind.

I lurked around the alley ways trying to find some unfortunate sap who dared to go hunting today. A man was walking around with some girl, just by taking one whiff I knew right away what his plan was.

I carefully followed them from behind. Once they turned to an empty street, I waited for him to gobble her up. As he was chewing her up, I quietly walked right behind him. Once he heard my kagune come out, he quickly flicked his head to me but it was far too late. I pierced two of my blades from behind and split him apart.

My hunger was getting the better of me, I fell to my knees and began to scrape his remains off the cement.

"My, my this is quite a sight." A woman's voice laughed .

I looked up and out of the dark came a beautiful lady. However, once I noticed her kagune waving around behind her I raised my kagune up as well. Her face was splattered with red and her dress was drenched with blood.

"You're gonna ignore that woman and go for the ghoul? Are you just a sick ghoul?" she laughed again.

"I've heard a lot about you as well binge eater." I grumbled.

"Well then if you don't mind," one of her tentacles came up and dragged the woman to her. "Oh you're still alive?"

The binge eater stabbed the woman several more times until she leaked out a huge puddle on the floor. She completely tore the body apart, her face was showered from the blood. Just watching her somewhat disturbed me.

"What are you looking at? if you're judging me for the way I eat then you should take a good look in the mirror. You're Megumi the Cannibal Ghoul." she said as she licked her fingers. "What I don't understand is why you look like that? Why are you dressed like a boy?"

Out of all the things she could've asked me.

"It's a disguise just in case I get caught. Plus other ghouls should be thanking me. I'm technically keeping the territories from being over run by other ghouls. Now there's more food for ghouls like you."

She suddenly began to laugh at me.

"I like your humor. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Rize Kamishiro."

I got up and wiped the blood off my face.

"I'm Megumi Yukimura. But please just Gumi is fine."

Rize viciously ripped her up, she laughed as she devoured the poor woman. Once it was over, she thanked me for the "desert" and began to walk back into the dark.

"Also Gumi," she said right before she could leave. "I suggest you lose that get up. If you embrace your feminine side, it could get you more meals. No one is gonna want to latch on to a young boy."

"I see that it works well for you."

"I'd really like to see what you really look like." she smiled and disappeared into the night.

There was something about her that really caught my attention. It's been a while since a ghoul actually scared me. Not only that but I had a strong urge to eat her but at the same time I didn't want to. I felt like I met my role model.

" Gumi," someone called me from behind.

I came back to reality and faced Noboru.

"It's dangerous for you to just daze out in the open. It's time to go." He said in his usual deep, rumbling voice. "You should really try to balance out your diet. If you eat too much ghouls, you'll start to mu-"

"I haven't eaten a ghoul for the past three weeks. Plus, we just got back to the city." Noboru let out a sigh and began to walk back.

"Fine, but please be more aware. The amount of doves here have been rapidly increasing. Just becareful on who you meet in these-"

"I just met the Binge Eater. Man, she was one hell of a lady."

Noboru abruptly stopped walking. I looked back and noticed the concern in his face.

"What did she want? Did you try to fight for food?"

"Nope. I gave her the human that the ghoul was eating. She also gave me some advice."

"Oh and what would that be?"

"She told me to stop dressing like a guy and to use my feminine power to drag in more meals." I tried to laugh it out.

Noboru sighed with a smile on his face. He tapped my head and gestured me to follow him.

"I think these disguises look fine on you." he chuckled. "I know that many ghouls here know that you're a girl but gender doesn't matter anymore. Dove or ghoul you're still a target, just be on your guard. "

"I'm pretty strong, Noboru. I can just eat them if they try anything funny."

"Gumi, it's sometimes best to not get into fights. It'll only stir up more trouble." He spun me around to face him and smushed my face.

"Please promise me that you won't go looking for trouble. My main priority is keeping you alive."

"I know, I know. You have my word." I laughed, pushing his hands off my face.

For the past couple of weeks, I've been running into Rize more frequently. Occasionally we'd chat but then doves would appear and we'd have to leave. But then she suddenly disappeared for a couple of days. One night, I decided to take Noboru's words into consideration and ran out to find some humans.

With my boy-ish get up, I was able to trick a lady into "helping me lift some boxes" Right when she turned her back to me, I sprinted over, grabbed her shoulders and began to rip the flesh off.

"Hello again Gumi." Rize appeared at the end of the alley.

"Rize, I thought you left. Where have you gone?"

"I'm leaving. The CCG have been getting in my way also this placing is getting pretty boring. Anyway, I wanted to say good bye. Looks like I never got to see your true image."

"I guess not. Take care Rize. Hopefully, I'll get to see you again."

She smiled sweetly and dissolved into the darkness. All of a sudden I no longer felt the need to eat. It's pretty rare of me to lose my appetite, I kinda felt upset about Rize leaving.
