For the past week, Tsukiyama had me walking with him all over the city. He showed me where he usually gets his tablecloth, curtains, utensils and other boring shit. Then we'd go to the library and he'd give me books to read about fine dining.

However, once he figured out that I didn't really know how to read, he went nuts.Now, he's tutoring me and making me read on my own time as well. He even gave me homework assignments and write a book report.

Knowing what he does for a living, I thought that working for him would be more thrilling and adrenaline pumping. I never thought that I'd be looking at spoons or reading 4th grader stories. However, tomorrow was the only day I had off.

"Wait, where did you say you were going? You're not going hunting without me are you?" I asked as we were walking around the store buying new supplies for the restaurant.

"I have a class to attend." He answered briefly as he was trying to pick which new set of curtains he wanted.

"Like a fitness class or..."

"Non!" he said loudly. "I have college and I need to bring in an assignment that I have been working on."

"I didn't know you went to school." I laughed at the thought of seeing this guy in class.

"And I didn't know that my assistant was illiterate, but it can't be helped. Unfortunately, I don't have anything else planned for you so you can do whatever you want tomorrow." He picked up a deep red, velvet curtain with golden tassels and laid on arms.

"Tsukiyama, when are we gonna hunt? How about I choose the meal?!" I said as I flicked some of the fabric off my face.

"Can't do that, Megumi." He snapped his fingers and pointed at the end that touched the dirty floor of the shop.

"What, why?" I whined.

"These meals I pick aren't just random people I find in the street. I choose the best scent I smell. A restaurant with class should be using food with class in flavor. Besides I don't trust your taste."

Once we finished our shopping, we stopped by a coffee stand for a drink. We sat down outside and had our break.

"There's one more thing we need to discuss." he began. "Are you gonna be a boy or a girl for the dinner?"

"Huh?"

"You're going to be reading names and greet our guest. You're going to need a mask and alias for this and I need to know which you want to be."

"Hmm...I never really thought about that."

"From what I remember you were a bit uncomfortable when I got you that dress. Would you like me to buy you some suits?"

"I'm not really sure what to do."

I sat there silently, waiting for an answer to pop up.

"How about this, you can dress like a girl whenever we have dinner. If you think about it you only have to dress up once a week while you can wear a disguise everyday."

"You know what, I'm gonna start being a girl. You don't have to buy me any more disguises." I muttered softly.

"Oh? Why the sudden change?"

"Before when...when Noboru was still here...he never let me go out without a disguise. I didn't really mind it because he always wanted to protect me." I looked in my drink and saw my reflection. "I never knew that hiding could change me mentally."

"I understand."

The next morning, I woke up a bit earlier to watch Tsukiyama go off to school. Before he walked out, he looked up and waved goodbye to me.

"Stay out of trouble." he said.

"Yeah, yeah. See ya soon." I waved back, still a bit sleepy.

All of workers came out to start on the chores. Everyone began to polish the wooden staircase, vacuum the carpet, dust the vases and wipe the windows. Once of the maids came up to me and handed me a note.

Megumi,

I have arranged a meeting for you with a man I know who can make you a mask. Be sure to be there by 2:00, not later than that.

A mask maker? This was probably for the dinner this weekend. I looked up at the old grandfather clock. It was still 8.

"I still have time." I yawned.

I hope you all had an awesome Halloween! I'm so tired from the candy rush I had.😝 Anyways, sorry that this chapter isn't that long I'm still a bit tired. Also I'm going to be a bit busy this week since I have to take another SAT.😔 Oh well, wish me luck and I hope you all are enjoying the story!
