Chapter 7 part 3
Author's Corner: At this point, Gumi is missing. Just trying to avoid any confusion.
~~The Restaurant~~
Up in the library creating a new plan was Tsukiyama, who was completely engulfed in his work. He finally lifted his head when the clock had struck 6:00 on the dot. The old grandfather clock began to chime and fill the room with it's melody.
Tsukiyama closed his book and then at the clock.
"It's been a long time since Megumi left."
He got up from his chair and headed over to her room. The room was left untouched, the bed was still a mess and clothes were scattered on the floor. He walked several rooms down and checked if his suit was returned in his closet. The suit was still gone.
He then went downstairs to the lounge and stuck his head in the room. Still, empty. The sun was already setting and the house seemed strangely quiet all day.
As a worker was passing by, he snapped his fingers and ordered the man to come closer.
"You, there! Has Megumi come home at all today?!"
"N-No sir! None of us have opened the doors for anyone all day."
Tsukiyama grew suspicious for her sudden disappearance. There could be several reasons to why she didn't come home. He let out a deep breath and turned to the worker.
"I want you to get everyone to check the whole building. Check all the rooms, garden, sheds, and kitchen for her. I also want you to send out four people to check in the city. Understood?"
"Y-Yes sir!" the man quickly ran off to the other servants to spread the news.
Tsukiyama called one of the maids to bring in his coat and mask. Right before he left the house he said to the maid
"Do not let anyone in. If someone knocks do not answer the door and stay away from the windows until I get back."
"Yes sir." she said closing and locking the door behind him.
Tsukiyama put on his coat and began to walk out into the streets, carefully looking at the faces that passed him. He couldn't recall if she even wore a disguise today. He continued on searching until night came.
He stopped by an intersection where he met up with his other searchers.
"Any signs?" he asked them.
"No sir." on of them answered.
"Get back to the house and stay there until I return. I'll be a out for a little longer."
"Yes sir." everyone answered.
Tsukiyama put on his mask and decided to go see several ghouls to ask them if Megumi had showed up. So far the only time the other ghouls had seen her was a few days ago when she was preparing the dinner.
"What's the great MM doing at a time like this?" Itori waved to him from an alleyway.
"I'm looking for my assistant, she went on a simple errand and never returned."
"I'm assuming that your talking about the Raven, our dearest Megumi. Unfortunately, I haven't seen her."
"Have you heard of any news of a ghouls death today?"
"That I have. A group of ghouls were found dead earlier. All chopped into pieces but they were all reported as males."
"Are you positive?"
"My research is rarely wrong." she said as she went on her way, but as she was passing him she whispered. "It's not the doves that you should be worried about."
When morning came, Tsukiyama went around to several small ghoul gangs in the area. Asking every one them the same question. Even when threatened they all gave him the same answer.
When night came again, Tsukiyama finally reached the HySy Mask Studio. Uta spun around in his chair and greeted him.
"It sure is rare to see you in my shop. What's happened? There has to be a reason why you came here."
"My assistant has gone missing, everyone here doesn't seem to know where she had gone."
"Assistant?"
"The one I sent for the masks."
"Oh, Gumi. I haven't heard or said that name in a while. Unfortunately I too haven't the slightest clue to where she's gone."
Tsukiyama took in a deep breath to calm his composure. "Be cool, Shuu." he mumbled to himself.
A knock came on the door right when Tsukiyama turned around to exit. Yomo walked in, showing no surprise to see Tsukiyama.
"Oh Ren, fancy seeing you here. Is there something you need?" Uta greeted.
"Yoshimura, needs to have a word with you two." Yomo said. "Something bad has happened and we need both your help."
"Today must be pretty troublesome for both of you." Uta's eyes scrolled at both men.
"What do you mean, Uta?" Yomo questioned him.
"My assistant, she's disappeared out of thin air. I'm pretty you've seen us out hunting before." Tsukiyama groaned from repeating the same problem for the past two days.
"The young boy that's always following you?"
"Actually, she's a girl but dressing like that is her quirk. But yes, that one."
"Heh, quirk." Uta quietly commented.
"Well, you'll want to hear this because I might have a good idea to the reason why she vanished."
"This better be a good reason." Tsukiyama scoffed.
"Recently Kankei was just kidnapped by members of the Aogiri Tree. They could've done the same thing to her."
Tsukiyama's face stiffened. Both of his prized possessions were taken away by the same group of ghouls. Someone could easily taste Kankei before he could and kill his trustworthy ally.
"Bastards" he growled under his breath.
