Chapter 15 Mirth

Once I was finished, I carefully fastened a towel around my body and scurried over to my room. There I put on my gown, hurried over to Tsukiyama's room and gently knocked on his expensive ornate door.

"Come in!" He yelled from the other side.

The room was dimly lit. I could barely see what was even in front of me.

"Oh Gumi, glad to see that you came!" Over at the side, Tsukiyama was watching me from the reflection on his mirror. He was combing his hair into perfection.

"Well, what did you want to talk a-"

"Give me a second." he cut me off. He set down his comb and rushed over to his bed and dove in. He pointed over to chair that was conveniently placed right by his bed.

I sat down beside him. I crossed my arms in front of my chest, waiting patiently for him to start this important conversation.

"What's with the scowl?" He questioned with a grin. "I thought you wanted to have an actual conversation with me? Here we are, face to face. I'd like to lay all the cards on the table now, no more lies just honesty. Don't be afraid to blurt out anything you want."

"You're such an ass." I blurted out, still giving a disgusted look.

"Haha! I like where this is going!" He exclaimed joyously.

"You promised...all honesty right now." I remained cranky.

"I know, but really tell me what's on your mind. I bet you have hundreds of questions for me."

I got up from my chair and paced in a line, wondering what I should start with.

"I'll wait for as long as you need me to." He gave me a mocking smirk as he crossed his arms on his chest.

"It's difficult to choose a topic, since you seem to always betray me."

"Betray? I'm not sure where you got that idea-"

"Just stop!" I screamed at him. "Stop trying to act innocent here!"

Tsukiyama's face seemed shocked but then reverted back to his usual calm, content expression. How it pissed me off.

"You bastard, you've been meeting up with Noboru this whole time! This whole fucking time I've been waiting and waiting-! You, you liar!" I pointed at him.

"I guess we'll start from there." he chuckled, pushing my finger away from his face.

"Tell me, tell me everything that you did...tell me why you betrayed me..." I gradually relaxed my muscles and placed myself back in my chair.

"Betray? I'm not sure why you'd use that term but once I explain myself, I bet all will be cleared." He adjusted himself so he could fully face me.

"I was actually by myself when I ran into Noboru. I was meeting up with Kanae to pick up some information he might have for our mission. I came to the shop pretty early so I decided to take a stroll. I knew that I was being followed by some ghoul so I led him some where private.

There at an old parking lot stood Noboru, his face angry and his eyes changed. He immediately had his kagune aimed at all my vital organs. He threatened me that if I made any sudden movements he wouldn't hesitate to kill me.

But I knew all of that was a lie. I demanded him what he wanted. He asked me where you were. No matter how many times he asked, I gave him nothing. The man said he'll keep on following me until I lead him over to you. So I didn't return home for those several weeks.
