Chapter 11 part 3
Running up to me was Tsukiyama, but once he reached me, I launched myself over to Kaneki's side and tried to catch Madam A myself. Right before I could touch the floor, one of the twins whiplashed me back to where I started.
My back slammed into the wall, thus creating a new whole to occupy the workers. I fell onto my knees, breathing hard and trying to ease my pain. Judging by the shiny oxfords that stood in front of me, I accepted his offer to help me up.
"Are you okay?" He actually sounded concerned for me.
"Who the hell are these guys?" I asked him
"I'm not sure...however I did notice that their kagune is an exact match of Kaneki's."
"Tsukiyama, please tell me what's happening here. I don't understand the fear that everyone else might be feeling. You have to tell me."
At the end of the day, all of our efforts to capture Madam A were fruitless. I walked around the restaurant searching for any clues. Everyone around me were nothing but shredded meat.
The workers in the restaurant had no choice but to work late in order to wash out all the stains on the floor.
"Maybe it's best that we upgrade to tile floors and add in drains. What do you think?" Tsukiyama casually walked around the place.
I gave him no response or even a look. I kept my eyes focused on the mess.
"We believe that there is a connection between Madam A and Kanou. Those twins we saw earlier are probably a result from one of his experiments like Kaneki." he suddenly blurted out.
"Then those two must be acting as her guards."
"Probably."
I finally turned around to face him and held my hand out to him. However, I couldn't help but feel embarrassed for what I was about to say, so I turned my head down to face the floor as I spoke.
"This has been a rocky year for us. Looking back, I realized that all we've been doing is argue with each other. I'm sorry, Tsukiyama."
I stood there for a couple of minutes, waiting for his answer. My eyes looked over to him, wondering why it's taking him so long to answer.
"What's this all of a sudden?" He chuckled at my childish behavior.
"I'm trying to apologize here!"
Again he let out a laugh and slapped his hand into mine. All of his fingers covered my whole hand and squeezed it tightly.
"I apologize, I just didn't expect that from you. You have a strange way of entertaining me!" He kept on laughing.
"Way to ruin it, moron." I mumbled under my breath.
For once can't this idiot take me seriously.
"Non!" he finally began to calm himself down and looked down at me. He was strangely quiet all of a sudden, with his stupid grin carved into his face and his eyes carefully examining me.
I had forgotten how weird this guy was. I made an uncomfortable face and raised my brow at him.
"Um...what are you doing?"
Out of nowhere, he took my other arm and began to twirl me around.
"Hey! What is up with you!" I growled at him, but he ignored me and continued to spin me around the room, he even started to hum to himself.
"You're such a weirdo! What are you doing?!" I yelled at him. However, I noticed that my scolding wasn't out of anger, I was actually enjoying myself.
