Stiles stepped through his portal into the Air District. As always it struck him at how beautiful it was. The air district was one of a kind, it was the only district that floated above the ground. Giving an eye soaring view of the world below.
The wind frequently whisked up leaves and flowers from the ground and when Stiles breathed in, he could literally smell flowers in the air.
The Air district miles and miles of land floating over the Earth District.
The Ex Lady Of Air's home was just as magnificent as the view below.
It looked more like a temple rather than the mansions Stiles and the Lords and Ladies lived in.
It was decorated with blue and silver crystals and somehow looked like it been built out of sapphires.
Stiles stood just outside the entrance. He could have created a portal right into the throne room but he loved looking at the view so much, he always went into the air district this way.
He did wonder what they wanted to talk about, hopefully nothing that stressful.
He walked lazily into the air temple, making his way towards the throne room, having a look at some of the decorations as he walked.
Stiles used a little of his magic to shove the heavy doors open, possibly it might be to freak them out a little.
They where already in a kneeling position in front of the door, awaiting his arrival.
Stiles couldn't stop a little smile at that.
The first thing he noticed was that strangely out of the five sorcerous that two of the sorcerous where not of the air district. One was from the Mind District, while the other was from the Power District.
They wore their formal cloaks, the colours of the district represented on clothes.
That and Stiles could sense how different the essence of their magic
was, three of their energy was light yet fast while one was intense and wide spread, the other was thick and heavy.
Air, Mind and Power.
"I don't normally get visits from sorcerous who are not in their own district, what's the occasion?" Stiles asked, to the point but calm and patient at the same time.
"Master, we would like to discuss trading-" The sorcerer from the power District began but he was interrupted.
"Our Lady refused, just because she is no longer here does not mean we will not honour her laws" A sorcerer from the Air District said but despite the attempt to sound formal and polite Stiles could literally feel the irritation and anger oozing from her voice.
Stiles narrowed his eyes a little and he said "I think someone best explain to me what's going on"
The sorcerer from the Mind District finally spoke up, he was far lowest to the ground in his kneeling and stared at the ground as he talked like the rest.
"The Lady Of Air stopped trading with my and the Power District years ago. Now that she...is no longer with us, we only wish to find out whether or not trading between our Districts will continue as it were"
And this all made sense very quickly to Stiles but he was confused on some things.
"Why did she stop trading between your Districts?" He asked.
Both of the sorcerous from different Districts seemed to squirm a little, especially the sorcerer from the Mind District, who suddenly turned very red in the race, looking...humiliated.
The sorcerer from the Power District said stiffly "The Lady Of Air believed that the money the Lord of Power got from the trades was not being put to good use and being squandered so she refused to trade with us"
There was a couple of seconds before the sorcerer of the Mind District managed to speak, a deep embarrassment and regret lying within his voice "The Lady Of Air refused to trade with the Mind District as she believed our Lord...was incompetent"
Stiles snorted, dropping his intimidating presence a little, thinking back to Rocrik "Well she was right on that one"
The sorcerer from the Mind District looked even more ashamed.
Stiles straightened a little as he studied the sorcerer in front of him. The people under the Lords and Ladies always put their Lord or Lady on a pedestal
That needed to change. They had to understand that they could make mistakes as well, that they did not represent their Lords and Ladies mistakes. Had the previous Master treated the sorcerous similarly to their District Leaders? Surely that wasn't right.
"Relax, just because he used to be your Lord doesn't mean you represent his actions. He was stripped of his power and title. He is no longer your lord so you no longer under him nor need to show him any respect"
All the sorcerous had an equal amount of shock on their face, as if no one had ever told them that before.
"You have...a Lady or Lord before haven't you?" Stiles asked curiously.
The Mind District sorcerer stammered out "We haven't personally but I-I believe our grandparents and much older r-relative have"
Stiles had to remember that was much longer than he thought it was as Sorcerous lasted a lot longer than normal humans.
Out of simple curiosity and being polite he asked him "What's your names?"
"Adam M-Master"
Stiles blinked a little at the normal name, not many sorcerous had-
Suddenly a thought struck him hard, so hard that he recoiled.
Adam....
What....
Where had he heard that name before? For some reason it was important to him, very important to him.
He didn't answer the sorcerous's concern as he wracked his brain, trying to remember why that name rang alarm bells in his head.
Another word popped up into his head...
Treason.
Without realising it his eyes landed on the Sorcerous of the Air District.
Then he remembered...
Stiles eyes narrowed...
It seemed he'd be seeing the Council a lot closer than he had anticipated.
