Tony shivered, wishing he didn't have to be here, the air felt to cold to breathe in, why was he taking part in this again? Why was he here?
Antony was spouting lies after lies yet he couldn't bring himself to speak up. Despite not liking what his pack was doing, his wolf instincts would not allow him to ignore his alpha and the beta's who were higher ranking than him.
Now I'm going to die for a plan I never wanted to carry out in the first place he thought feeling his fear and anxiety over what was going on rise.
Why did Antony have to poke his nose into the Grand Masters personal life? This wouldn't win his trust, this would get them killed!
The air around them became frosty just after Antony asked his question.
Tony's eyes widened in surprise as he could see his own breath in the air, it had suddenly became that cold?
But he knew who was coursing it and he couldn't ignore it. He had to do something!
Tony said shakily, for once in his life speaking out of turn in effort to save their life's.
"I-I'm sorry, we didn't mean-"
Antony gave him a irritated look for speaking out of turn.
The sorcerer with the grand master murmured something which she must have been using some kind of magic because Tony could not hear what she had just said, even with his supernatural hearing.
But the air around them suddenly rose back up to its normal temperature and wolves felt like they could breathe again.
Tony thanked the sorcerer silently, very sure without her they may have already been dead.
She had been so quite, he had actually forgotten she was there.
The Grand Master shook his head and seemed to take a calming breath then finally said slowly "I...admit that it has been difficult to get over what happened to me in the past"
Though he added giving Antony a critical once over "Though I also have to say my first meeting with your pack and your alpha also did leave with a bitter aftertaste"
Antony quickly said "Ah yes we didn't get of to the best start but we've all been trying to make up for that and I hope that this dinner we have planned will let you know that first impressions can be deceiving"
Tony thought to himself irritably or you had the right impression of them from the beginning and their using this dinner as a way to try and kill you.
However no matter how much he wanted to speak out...he couldn't...
This was still his pack.
He couldn't disobey his alpha.
Right?
Omega's didn't survive on their own after all.
The sorcerer seemed to murmur something else to the Grand Master who nodded then told them that he better get going, he had an appointment with a Lord to talk about trading.
Antony accepted this gracefully, smiling warmly yet Tony knew it was fake "Of course, we'll definitely see you at the dinner then? And remember Master, just as we are not the wolves who hurt you, we are not our ancestors either. The Lady Of Air's memories are hundreds even thousands of years old, we do not live as long as you do"
The Grand Master nodded as he said "I'll remember that"
The dinner was only a couple of days away now, Antony couldn't wait.
Tony was dreading it.
Hi! So sorry it's been a while! I was on a very intensive course for a while, I hope you all had a great couple of months though! Mind you not updating last week was entirely my fault as I got a bit addicted to rewatching an anime called Hunter x Hunter (which I totally recommend) instead of writing this chapter which I should have been doing 😅
