"You killed him, he did so much for us and you killed him. S-some of us need his company to get by but now his gone M-master"A small child was the one that spoke, despite the fact she looked only about nine years old, her voice was mature and she hid her fear well.
The child's father stood close by, looking unsure how to react. He felt much more fearful than his child, he looked ready to jump in at a moments notice though.
Stiles let power build up around him, spreading around his subjects and curling around the girl in front of him.
Strings of energy appeared before his eyes, reminding him of what he saw of the Lords and Lady's. Theirs were not as thick but just as bright. Stiles reached out and gently touched the line of magic attached to the child, which from there attached itself to her father and a couple of other lines went out which Stiles knew were attached to the rest of her family.
As soon as he touched the line of energy, flashes of young memories passed him by, he smiled gently at the girl as he said "No one is above the law Ililia, I'm sure you understand that, considering you want to be part of the Mind Core when you are older"
Her eyes widened in surprise. He felt a little bit of joy inside him at instead of true fear she looked at him in awe, as if everything she had believed about him had come true, which he knew it had been.
Ililia said softly "Even you?"
Stiles smirked a little at the nerve of the kid.
Her father however understanding the offence not that Stiles was offended but in general his status was meant to be god like, you did not question your god, scrambled to her defence.
"She is only a child and isn't-"
A simple look from Stiles silenced him.
He looked back at the child and said smiling a little at her, his previous anger slowly melting away.
"Most Sorcerous want to put me above the law but yes, even me"
Ililia grinned at his reply. Stiles knew that there were definitely more details to his answer but he didn't feel like going through the complication of it.
Yes he should not be above the law but at the same time, in this world he essentially was the law, so really he just needed to hold himself accountable for his own actions right...?
Well he definitely needed to try and put a fairer system in place but he knew that all had to wait. One problem at a time, he told himself.
"Master, we tried to stop them"
A hesitant sorcerer of the Mind Core spoke up, she was the one that looked familiar.
Then her name clicked in his mind.
Carlie?
It had been such a king time since he'd seen her. He knew the way she was looking at him she didn't recognise him.
Stiles smirked a little, finding childish joy in being able to reveal who he really was to her but first things come first.
"You did your best" He assured her. She looked a little confused, Stiles assumed she recognised his voice or thought it sounded like someone she knew, well... She was in for a surprise.
He addressed the crowd of protesters, which had spawned into riots. Letting his power seep into his voice.
"I understand your anger and your concerns. As I am your current Lord until a new Lord or Lady is chosen you should have come directly to me. Anyone, even any Elites who tell you that you should not waste my time with matters such as this are wrong"
The crowds expressions of fear slowly gave way to hope.
Stiles knew that they were only listening to him and taking his words as gospel because of who he now was though thankfully that was in his favour.
"I will make sure that his company starts up again and that it continues its honourable work within this district"
The atmosphere had completely changed.
As he had talked, Carlie and the Mind Core has relaxed as the mood of the people changed.
With only his words.
Then a cheer rang out, followed by more and clapping.
Stiles felt light and it suddenly felt so much easer to breathe.
He hadn't realised there had been such a heavy weight on his chest until it was gone.
Hello, so so sorry its been so long, I'll be trying to update once every two days, first I just felt I needed to tell you whats been going on, especially the past month but before that I felt very ill for a long time so I couldn't update, then I just got distracted and lost motivation and then about a month ago I lost my family dog, Albee. He got very sick and so we had to make the choice to put him to sleep. The vets told us with his heart condition and the fact he was just too old to survive an operation.
It still feels very strange that his gone however as the house felt so so empty without him, so we decided to get another dog, we got a cavalier king charlse puppy yesterday and his name is Merlin, not my first choice of name but my sister picked it and I think it suits him.
In memory of my last dog, I have changed my profile pic, so the dog on my profile pic is Albee. He was playful and very sweet. He was so brave as well. Apart from not wanting to eat or move, he still wagged his tail at us in greeting in the morning and at the vets, he wagged his tail in greeting them as well as he quite liked the vets.
When it was time for us to say goodbye, he had gone downhill very fast so he wasn't aware of his surroundings when we said goodbye but I hope he could smell we were there and my sister and mum were aloud to stay with him until he fell asleep, I just hope he knew they were with him until the end. I'm crying as I write this but I know the new puppy will fill the void that Albee has left behind but Merlin will never replace Albee but he is a new beginning for us all.
