Stiles was a little confused but he wasn't worried when the werewolf took Alicia out of the room, he knew she could handle herself besides the council was not in a position to upset him right now, he was very aware that they needed this allience more than he did unless they were idiots.
Kian smiled pleasantly at him however there just wasn't something quite right about that smile though he couldn't put his finger on it.
"Please sit, let us bring about a new start, by the end of this I assure you, your first impressions of us are not who we are, I hope we can prove that too you by the time this night is done"
Stiles sat down in the chair Kian offered while he said slowly, letting them know in his tone, that he was opened minded about this but still cautious "We shall see"
"Please, while we wait for our food to come out, have something to drink" Kian said, gestued towards a werewolf who filled up Stiles cup with what Stiles assumed was red wine.
Kian took his own cup that was already filled up with red wine and took a drink. Stiles supposed he might as well try and be friendly, he picked the class up, though strangely he noted that the wine smelt different from what he was expecting, it smelt of sugar and fruit and very enticing.
Stiles put the wine to his lips, however just as he was about to drink from it...
"Stop!"
He was too shocked to react with Alicia's urgent shout and the drink was then snatched out of his hands.
Kian was even quicker to react than him, standing up so fast his chair toppled with a loud clang as he snarled "What are you doing, stupid girl, don't interrupt the Grand Masters dinner!"
"You poisoned it! Don't drink it!"
Stiles's took a few moments to process what Alicia had said...Kian had poisoned it?
He quelled the rising anger, too take a closer look at his drink, it had smelt strangely appatising, more so than any drink he had come across before.
Instead of reminding him of delicious plump fruits the red liquid now reminded him of dark sweet promise of death. No ordinary poison could kill him, this would have to be prepared months, no, to be able to kill him? Maybe years?
Which meant they always intended to betray him, maybe even planning to use this on the previous Grand Master.
While his thoughts were whirling in his head and he put the glass down on the table, slowly increasing his rage once again about this situation, he wasn't paying attention to the argument that was happening around him.
"You dare excuse me! You only wish to ruin our treaty. Many sorcerus hate werewolves and wish for our treaty to end, you are like all of them" Kian had snarled out.
The other members of the council seemed too scared to speak, complete shock on their expressions.
Thinking back to what happened right then Stiles knew he should have said something right away, said that he believed Alicia, that she hadn't needed to prove herself to him by risking her life.
But his anger was slowly taking over him, he knew if he truly gave in too it, the building would be destroyed and Alicia would be caught in the crossfire, the only signs of his inward struggle was the temperture dropping as he slowly lost the fight but then...he was suddenly snapped out of it.
"Then I'll prove it!" Alicia shouted, too deep in a yelling match with the Alpha to notice what was going on with Stiles.
She stormed over and picked up the cup, her eyes glittering dangerously, she did not understand that Stiles had believed her as soon as she had yelled, the only thing on her mind was proving that she was not the traitor here, that the alpha was in the wrong, that they should not continue on with this dinner and to protect Mieczyslaw's life, she would have to prove herself by giving up her own life.
After all, as a servant, or even simply as a sorceror under his rule, that was her duty was it not? To give up her life, when his was in danger? She could not protect him from physical threats, he could deal with that himself but something as sneaky and invisible as poison, well she could definitly help with that.
In effort to prove her worth and to prove that she was no traitor, too get Mieczyslaw to believe her, no matter the cost. Alicia put the glass to her lips and tipped it forward.
"Alicia, no!" Stiles shouted, his struggle in reigning in his anger had left him too slow to be fully aware what was going on around him and by the time he realised...it was too late.
