Stiles stepped through the portal that lead him towards the human realm. He stepped into a forest, pine trees rose from the ground like giants. He kept to his human hight, thinking that it would be less intimidating when they saw him. However he didn't try and hide his power. As soon as he stepped on to the forest floor he could tell that they knew he was there.
Stiles held his hand up, touching something thin in the air, a powerful magical barrier.
He had a urge to break it but he stopped himself, thinking back to his conversation with Madam Rucia.
For this to work... he had to keep control over his temper.
Which was going to be difficult.
He waited for a couple of minutes then soon enough two familiar werewolves appeared.
They'd been apart of the council when he first saw them.
They approached his carefully.
"I realised that I was a little...out of order last time we spoke. I'd like to go over our deal again"
He added before they could get any ideas "That doesn't mean I've changed my mind on it but I think it be best if we could be more...civil"
The barrier broke down and Stiles blinked as the trees in front of him transformed into a huge mansion, made of bark and leaves.
Interesting he thought.
They must have druids in their side that made this head quarters for them. He knew werewolves could not use magic so druids or warlocks must be the only other options with enough magic he could think of.
"F-follow us" One of the wolves said.
Stiles pretended that he didn't notice their fear, though stopping himself from smiling in satisfaction was hard.
He followed them into the council headquarters.
After going through a number of twisting corridors, the space finally opened up into a hall. A round table in the middle. All the council members where there, standing up, waiting for them.
He saw them all stiffen as he walked in.
Kian, the leader stepped away from the table to greet them.
"I...didn't expect to see you so soon after our last meeting" He said stiffly.
Stiles smile was just as stiff.
"I could say the same but after I thought things through I think it would be best if our first meeting about the treaty went a little more civilly, I'm sure you agree" Stiles said, trying his best to keep the coldness out of his voice.
Kian didn't reply for a couple of seconds then he smiled, his body relaxing "Ah, yes of course!"
Suddenly he gave a long bow, the other wolves looked at him shocked that he would show respect this quickly, taking in their last encounter into account.
"I'm very sorry for our last meeting. It was our fault entirely. We did not respect your new rule but...please would you accept this invitation as a apology"
Stiles frowned, confused.
"Invitation?"
"Yes, as an apology please accept our invitation to a banquet later in the month. It will be a grand feast, fit for a ruler such as yourself. It would also the best place to discuss the treaty, surely...Master"
Stiles frowned, the odd change of attitude must be to try and win his trust but he felt even more...unnerved...
Still...
It sounded like a good idea.
And Stiles thought reluctantly he probably was less likely to lose his temper in that sort of situation.
Though he noticed some odd conflicting emotions around the room.
A couple of the wolves seemed really uneasy for some reason Stiles couldn't figure out while the other werewolves looked eager, calm and confident.
He wasn't sure what to make of that.
"Fine, is that all?"
"Yes, that is all Master"
It should feel humiliating for an alpha to call him by him Master and yet Kian smiled and it looked a little...triumphant?
