He notices two things as soon as he stepped through the door.

One, the moon was full and bright, despite himself he did think it looked quite beautiful, shining light down into the darkness.

Second, the moon reflected off a strange lake that was in front of him, something about it pulled him closer.

Flower had clutched on to his hand again, looking frightened.

"It'll be alright, this will end soon" Stiles comforted her as they walked closer to the lake.

Something started to form in the water. It was difficult to make out but it was someone invisible had spilled their red paint in the water, it didn't smell like blood however when Stiles realised what was going on a blood curling shiver went down his spine.

Words formed in the water.

Just two sentences.

This lake is where daisies go to sleep.

Kill the wolf.

At first the words were hard to proceed but then... Flower started screaming in agony.

Her body started to twist in different angles and she cried out, tears in her eyes.

The task suddenly made horrifying sense.

The full moon now seemed to hold a terrifying and dreadful light.

"No" Stiles murmured under his breath.

He couldn't accept this!

The animals that had attacked her parents and her, the reason why she was crying out and her body twisting in unnatural angles.

Bones snapped, changing, reforming.

She seemed to then suddenly have a moments rest as she fell to her knees.

She stared at Stiles, her expression with pure confusion, pain and fear.

There was no words to truly express what she was feeling even if she could.

Stiles automatically bent down to help her, steadying her and comfort her, pushing the task out of his mind for now.

"It's alright, it's alright, the pain will stop soon" Stiles murmured.

The little girl relaxed a little under his touch.

This was so cruel.

Stiles felt like screaming, was this seriously the task? Was this why she was here? To cruelly test him like this?!

Flower started to cry, tears streaming down her face as the pain started again and she looked at him imploringly.

Begging for the pain to stop.

Stiles gritted his teeth, and just squeezed her a little, trying to still let her know he wasn't going to leave her and he's try to help her.

"I know what this is, don't worry, it'll stop" He murmured.

Would it stop because of him, that was the question...

No!

He couldn't do this!

But...Alicia...

At the same time, bitter thoughts surrounded him.

You hate werewolves don't you? So this should be easy for you. You've killed werewolves easily before, why is this so different?

It's not like she's a normal girl anymore, your fine killing wolves you don't know but wolves you do know on the other hand, no matter your threats and promises, you're just a huge nasty hypocrite in the end.

Stiles shook his head, shut up!  He told his own intruding dark thoughts.

Flower started to cry out again in pure pain again, her body shuddering in agony against him.

He hung his head low, wishing he could block her cries, reminding him he had to make a choice.

But he couldn't ignore this!

He didn't really have any plan in mind as he said shakily "Follow me, I know how to stop the pain"

He lead her gently by the hand, near to the strange water.

"You're real name is Daisy, isn't it?" Stiles asked softly.

The pain seemed too dull again so she had enough sense to nod.

Her hand dug into the dirt and her hands trembling because of the pain, formed words in the mud.

Help me.

He let out a heavy breath as he said, his voice weak "Yeah... I'll help you"

He cupped the water in his shaking hands, remembering the words.

This lake is where daisies go to sleep.

"This water will send you to sleep, it'll stop the pain, it's magic water"

Completely trusting Flower opened her mouth quickly.

Why did she have to trust him so much?

It hurt even more, Stiles felt like he was in agony as well.

Please, he thought to himself, please be a child created by the curse. Please don't be real or I'll never forgive myself!

He cowardly hoped that the lake just meant it transported someone into dreamland but he knew that was unlikely.

As soon as she drank some of the water, her eyes started to close and Flower smiled at him.

Don't smile at me!
Yell
Cry out!
Tell me to stop.
Don't trust me!

Yet she did none of these things, her eyes then closed, forever.

A bitter thought sprang into his mind.

Didn't you promise you'd never cry over a werewolf?

Yet here he was.
