I groaned, slowly opening my eyes to the bright light in front of me.
I squinted my eyes, trying to regain focus.
I saw Michael reading a book with the lamp beside him on.
"Michael?" I groaned, coughing.
Michael gasped, setting his book down. "Oh, Mia. I'm glad you're up." He worriedly said, taking my hand.
I stared at him, "What am I doing here?" I softly said, slowly getting up.
"You have pneumonia, Mia." Michael softly said, helping me sit up.
My eyes slightly widened as my head snapped towards his direction. "Is my baby okay?" I asked.
Michael nodded, "The baby is just fine." He let out a small smile.
I sighed in relief.
Michael pulled me in for a hug. "You've gotta stop worrying me like this, Mia.." Michael mumbled.
I chuckled, "I'm not trying to, Michael." I softly said.
Michael let go of me, "I heard you and Hazel yelling inside. What happened?" Michael asked.
I sighed, "Jermaine cheated on Hazel. They're getting a divorce and she wanted my comfort." I frowned.
"Really?" Michael said in disbelief.
I nodded.
"I wouldn't so we got into an argument.." I said.
I sighed, "It was mostly me yelling at her.. It felt good to say what I had to actually.." I admitted.
Michael smirked, "I know. We heard you from outside." Michael said.
I blushed, "Oh god.." I mumbled, feeling embarrassed.
Michael chuckled.
I saw Doctor Robert walk in. "Ms. Gordy, we should have a chat." He said, holding onto his notes.
I slowly nodded. "Michael, could you wait outside please?" I kindly asked.
Michael nodded, getting up from his chair.
"I'll tell you when you can come back in, Mr. Jackson." Doctor Robert smiled.
Michael nodded, walking out of the hospital room.
Doctor Robert sighed, walking towards me.
He slowly sat on the edge of my bed, touching my knee gently.
"I'm so sorry to hear about Mike.. He was a good kid." Doctor Robert said with sincere, looking me in the eyes.
I gulped, giving him a nod.
He sighed, looking at his notes. "This may be a troubling pregnancy for a while, Ms. Gordy. Pneumonia is common when having HIV and you can get it when you're pregnant.. I have your medication with me, I'll give it to you after our chat." He said.
I nodded.
"We're going to give you something new. It's called Trimetrexate. It's um.." Doctor Robert scratched the back of his head.
"It's for pneumonia patients with.... AIDS." He softly said.
My eyes widened as I gasped. "AIDS?" I whispered, my voice cracking.
"B-But y-y-you said I only had HIV!" I softly cried.
Doctor Robert sighed, "On the rate you're going, you're more likely to get AIDS after having your baby. It won't harm your baby, Ms. Gordy. We're here to help, not make things worse.." He said, looking at me.
