Chapter Twenty-Six

1987 

Three years have gone past since I had my beautiful baby boy, Michael Joseph Brown.

It's been an absolute joy watching him grow. My little man..

Michael has loved every single moment of watching Mike. He loves being around him, can't get enough of Mike! 

Speaking of Michael, Michael has been working on a new album lately called, "Bad". I'm very excited to hear what he has planned. Thriller is still selling so well today, goodness. Michael's dream is for Thriller to become the best selling album and it's making it so far!

He's been really doing real well getting his name out there! 

I keep telling him he shouldn't have to do anything, Thriller did it all for him!

But he said no and went off and did Disney's Captain EO. Playing a hero, he was really adorable. 

Janet is off on tour for her album "Control." That album defiantly gave Janet a name! She should be back home in a few months. We're all so proud of Janet!

Janet's marriage with James ended two years ago. I don't know why, Janet won't talk to me about it. But it seems like she's happy in life so that's all that matters. 

Kevin is just Kevin. He's been drinking a lot more lately, doing less cocaine, and having late nights at work. I'm worried but I can't question him.

I've questioned him before and it didn't turn out well. 

"Michael!" I called out to my son.

I placed my hands on my hips, waiting for my son to come to me.

Nothing. 

"Michael!" I called out again.

Nothing. 

I sighed. That boy never listens. I thought, dragging my feet across the ground as I walked into his room.

"Michael, baby." I cooed, knocking on his opened door.

I smiled, watching Mike play with his toys.

"Baby, we have to go to the doctors now. Come on." I called.

Michael didn't react until he turned around and saw me.

Michael smiled widely at me as he slowly stood up.

He walked his little body towards me, hugging my legs tight.

I smirked, "Baby, we've got to go." I said, picking Mike up.

Mike said nothing but look around in awe.

I stared at him for a moment. What's going on with Michael?

"Doctor Robert, I don't know what's going on.. Michael hasn't been reacting to noises as he usually does." I explained to the doctor as I touched my baby's head.

Mike smiled widely at me, looking up in a wonder.

The doctor sighed, looking at his notes. "That's why we do check-ups, Ms. Gordy. We took a test on your son's hearing and it appears to be something bad.." He frowned.

My eyes widened, "What is it?" I quickly asked, feeling my heart race.

Doctor Robert sighed again, looking up at me. "It appears Michael has gone deaf, Ms. Gordy." He explained to me.
