Chapter Thirty-Six

I smoothed my black dress down.

The dress went down just above my knees. My arms are covered in it's patterned lace.

The dress flowed out, being able to cover my small bump that was developing.

I sighed, staring at myself in the mirror.

I'm not bothering with makeup that's just going to be ruined with my tears. I thought, fixing my neat bun.

There was a soft knock on the door. "Mia?" Michael softly said, slowly opening the door.

"Are you rea-" Michael stopped as he looked at me.

I smiled, scanning me. "You look beautiful..." He whispered.

I blushed, seeing him in a suit. "You look handsome yourself." I shyly said, crossing my arms.

Michael smiled, walking closer to me. "Lose dress? Are you showing already?" Michael softly said.

I blushed more, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. "Does it look like I'm showing?" I quietly asked.

Michael smirked, taking my hand as he held onto it. "No but you look beautiful, Mia. Don't worry." Michael smiled.

I blushed. "Thank you.." I shyly said.

"And yes, a little.." I softly said.

Our arms swung around for a bit as he smiled at each other.

Michael cleared his throat, letting go of my hands. "The family is here.." Michael softly said.

I frowned. "Let's get this over with.." I mumbled, walking towards the door.

"Mia." Michael called out.

I turned around, staring at Michael.

"Jermaine and Hazel are here as well." Michael said.

I sighed, "It's alright. Let's just get this over with so I can somehow move on with my life." I said, turning around.

In all honesty, I didn't want to see my sister. She abandoned me like my father. Sure, Hazel isn't a bad girl, but she never even bothered to contact me in any way. Hazel never met Mike though I'm sure Jermaine has said some things about him.. 

I sighed as Michael and I held hands, walking down the hallway.

For my baby..

For Mike. 

Katherine caught my eye first as the family was all around in a bundle.

"Oh, Mia!" Katherine cried, rushing towards me.

She hugged me tightly, "Sweetheart, I'm so sorry.." She softly said.

I gave her a nod, weakly smiling.

Katherine let go of me.

"Thank you for coming.." I softly said.

Katherine weakly smiled, "Of course, sweetheart." She quietly said, gently touching my arm.

Michael leaned towards me, "I have a surprise for you." He whispered in my ear.

I smirked, looking at him. "Everyone, we're all going to be heading outside now!" Michael called out, taking my hand.

We all started walking around the home.

We walked past Jermaine and Hazel. I felt Hazel stare at me but I didn't dare look at her.

I don't know where we're going... Hell, I don't know this place. Wonder what the 'surprise' is.. 

Janet ran up to Michael and I as we all continued walking.
