Chocolate? Yum! Caramel? Double yum! A golden, rich creamy light brown mixed with a hint of orange matched with a deep, dark shade of brown that's already starting to make your mouth water! So where did these two perfect treats come from? Unfortunately, we aren't exactly sure where caramel came from but it was somewhere between 1650-1880 in what is now the USA. Some settlers were making little hard candies after they settled and invented the tasty sweet little candy we have now! Now chocolate has been around for quite a while now, the earliest about 1750BCE. It was made as a drink in Mesoamerica and when the drink was discovered by European settlers many fell in love with it. Mr. Hershey was the one who transformed this delicious drink into the rich treat we have today! He first sold caramel then started selling chocolate as his main product. When he combined the two, it was perfection at it's finest! So how should we celebrate this tasty day? Simply add chocolate and caramel and anything you'd like! From vanilla ice cream with caramel and chocolate drizzled onto to just simply buying premade chocolate with caramel inside!
