It’s a widely known fact that potato chips are the glue that holds civilization together, so we obviously need a day to celebrate it. That’s why we have March 14, Potato Chip Day. Potato chips go way back - they were invented in 1853. There’s quite an interesting story behind its creation.

A chef received a complaint from a customer that his French fries were not sliced thin enough and were too soggy. The chef decided to be spiteful and sliced the potato into wafer-thin pieces, then poured salt all over it. Surprisingly, the customer loved the chips and other diners wanted the same dish. The mass production of this delicious snack came soon after.

The most popular flavors have been sour cream and onion, barbecue and regular. Personally, I love cheesy flavors (like Doritos and Cheetos).
