Rocky Road Day
By KikithefoxNuts? Meh. Marshmallows? Yum. Chocolate? Yum! And altogether they create: rocky road! Though its mostly seen as a flavor of ice cream now, its origin came from just simply those 3 ingredients. Back in 1853, in Australia, some businessmen decided to mix their spoiled sweets from their journey with nuts and chocolate. The name was based on the rocky road that travelers used to get to the gold fields.
However, Rocky Road ice cream wasn't invented until 1929 by William Dreyer in Oakland, California. He created it for the people who were affected by the Wall Street crash in hopes of lifting their spirits. Today, lets grab our ice cream cones and bowls and dig in!
