Now, some of you may be wondering why we would celebrate nerds and geeks. Originally, a geek was seen as a lisping, acne-faced person with glasses, a bowtie, and a complete lack of athletic skill. But that’s a load of baloney, wouldn’t you agree? A geek is someone who is devoted to a particular topic - whether it’s chemistry, science fiction, fantasy literature - and knows almost everything there is to know about it. That’s pretty cool, isn’t it? Knowledge is power, after all.
Popular ways of celebrating Geek Pride Day include dressing up as your favorite characters, role-playing, playing video games or even just having a simple discussion about what you love.
Everyone has something they’re really passionate about. What is your passion, dear reader?
