Day: 086
Purple Day
By Kikithefox
Purple day? What's this all about?
That's what I thought as well, fellow reader, and now I'll be the one to answer your question!
Purple day is a day to spread awareness about people who have Epilepsy. There are about 50 million people worldwide and about 1 in every 100 people who have Epilepsy. Cassidy Megan created this day in 2008 as a way to destroy myths and misconceptions about Epilepsy and inform those who have it that they're not alone.
Epilepsy is a chronic disorder where a person experiences recurring seizures. These seizures are usually unprovoked seizures or, aren't caused by anything or anyone.
Often, the perceptions that people have on those who have Epilepsy has a worse effect than the seizures themselves. So if we all come together and help spread awareness for this important day then it'd help those struggling with Epilepsy a lot!
Let's put on a purple shirt and participate together to help those with Epilepsy!!!
