“If women understood and exercised their power, they could remake the world.”

These are the words of Emily Taft Douglas, a female politician who oversaw dozens of overseas humanitarian projects. While she may not be an engineer, her quote is certainly true. Women who are engineers have the capability to remake the world as we know it. So why is it that they’re being kept out of these fields? They deserve to be in STEM-oriented careers just as much as men do.

Thankfully, we have International Women in Engineering Day. This day was created in 2014 by the Women’s Engineering Society to celebrate its third anniversary.

It celebrates the outstanding achievements of various female engineers throughout the world, and inspires fellow females to get into engineering.

To all our female readers, what career field do you hope to work in? Do you hope to work in STEM-related fields? If so, hopefully this day will motivate you to pursue your goals. Get out there and chase your dreams, girls!
