He had survived the night.
The doc shooed me away
He'd call if there was more to say.
A new menu buzzed in the cafe
Sr. Sol for his crime will pay.
Rob kept him company in the cell
Told stories about Strop and his clientele.
The deputies kept a watch on the inmates
The sheriff picked me up for our lunch ... date.
We reviewed the hotel newly renovated
The lunch was non existent and over stated.
The boat seemed to be the last resort
One more attempt to fix the discord.
Treeface's batting lashes tried my will
Yet dinner was sweeter still.
Later on we took a stroll on deck
On the cheek he got a thank you peck.
He still held me near
When a loud cough we did hear.
"An urgent message for the sheriff, sir
From a Raven, some news to make clear.
He wants to meet real soon
And will wait at the saloon."
From the boat we did depart
Both with a heavy heart.
