Sol fired off a round
3Gun fired back
and dove for the ground
The horses got skittish
as the men found their cover
more shots were fired
then the shooting was over
3Gun peered through the spokes
of the old wagon wheel
saw the glint of sun
off of Sol's rifle steel
He took careful aim
and squeezed off a shot
but just the gun was there
Sol was not
Too late he realized
he fell for the ruse
Sol came 'round the wagon
the knife not good news
3Gun got to his knees
caught Sol in mid dive
grappled for the knife
to stay alive
Under the wagon
they rolled in the dirt
bumping heads and elbows
ignoring the hurt
Sol gained the advantage
and pressed for the kill
but a promise to CG
gave 3Gun the will
Grabbed the knife hand
as Sol started to gloat
and twisted it sharply
right into his throat
He hitched up the horses
threw Sol in the back
picked up Horse
and retraced their track
