Lonely are the Brave

Justice knew no time to wait

Those two didn't realize but

They were running late

For a destiny that

Would seal their fate

He saw one climb into the wagon

Not doubt hopin'

to shoot behind them

But as soon as the flap

Was thrown back

Justice was there with his rope

Lassoing the unfortunate dope

Justice then pulled his horse full stop

One twin down without even a shot

"Mike!" the other yelled

Seeing his brother felled.

He tried to turn his team around

But instead run his wagon aground

Taking the turn way to tight

the wagon nearly to tip

All you could hear

was the crunch of wood split

The shattered wheel flew

Justice tried to dodge

But a large splinter

Had run his horse through

The horse went down

Taking Justice with it to the ground

But thankfully he was able to rebound

Justice saw red

His favorite horse now lay dead

The other twin had a look of dread

And took cover, Justice just noticed

His shoulder bled.

He pulled a splinter from his arm

Preparing to do some harm

Shots whizzed on by

"I'd throw that gun away

Unless you WANT to die."

"You killed my brother

You're going down."

Ike let out scream

And came running around.

Justice shook his head

At the senseless of it all

He shot the man's leg

He fell but began to crawl

"Give yourself up

There's no way to win."

But then Ike tried to fire again.

He almost managed

To do some damage.

"I gave you a chance

Now you've come to your last dance."

Justice raised his gun

"What's done is done."

A single shot rang out

Justice rolled him over

With the point of his boot.

The man was dead, Justice

Checked the wagon for loot.

It was empty

Just like his win

He went over to the wagon

Putting on a new wheel

Affixing it with a linchpin

He threw the body in the back

Soon he got the wagon on track

Stopping a moment

to throw in back the other twin

exhaustion and blood loss hit him

Causing his head to spin.

"Guess I should have stowed some muffins."

Justice got into the driver's seat.

Now his job was complete

He drove the wagon back to town

Not much of a showdown.

Justice tried to get his bearings straight

But he wasn't in the best of state

He lost his grip on the reins

Feeling another stab of pain

Being thrown from his horse

Did more damage of course

Then the Marshall wished to admit

But for this ride he was obvious unfit

Too bad he won't make it back

His last thought of CG

Her face flickering across his memory

Right before his world went black.
