Jaebum got out of his bed, the strange noises of shuffling coming from down the hall. He walked over to his bedroom door, pressing his ear to the wood to listen.

He just heard continuous shuffling and rummaging, his heart pace quickening as he couldn't point out who or what was making the noice. That was, until he remembered the stranger he let into his house a few hours earlier. Jinyoung.

Jaebum quickly opened his door, swiftly walking down the hall to see what was going on. He spotted his stuff everywhere, drawers pulled opened and items littered across the floor.

Jaebum walked further in, spotting Jinyoung on the couch, his nose buried in a book. Jaebum's song book.

Jaebum jumped into action then, quickly rushing over to the couch and snatching the book out of Jinyoung's hands. Jinyoung yelped, his eyes widening at the sudden appearance of Jaebum.

"What the hell are you doing!?" Jaebum asked, placing his book out of Jinyoung's reach.

Jaebum had a hold on Jinyoung's arm, but Jinyoung quickly twisted out of it and grabbed Jaebum by the collar of his shirt. Jaebum felt himself being pulled downwards, Jinyoung now grabbing him and holding him down.

Jaebum wrestled out of Jinyoung's grasp, pushing him away. He tried to throw a punch but Jinyoung moved to quickly, catching Jaebum's wrist and pinning it down to the couch. Jinyoung used his weight to sit on Jaebum, trapping him underneath. Jaebum suddenly heard the sound of a click and something cold pressing against his ribcage. He gulped at the feeling. Was that... a gun?

"Don't move." Jinyoung said firmly, pressing the gun further into Jaebum's side.

Jaebum sucked in a breath, looking up at Jinyoung with hardened eyes. "What the fuck are you doing?"

"Shut up. Don't move or I'll blow your guts out." Jinyoung stated.

Jaebum was pissed off and frustrated. He knew he shouldn't have let this guy into his house, and now he's being held at gunpoint by him. What a turn of events.

"Let me go." Jaebum demanded.

"Do you think I'm dumb?" Jinyoung asked. "You're just gonna knock me out and call the police or something."

"Wow, good job putting that together." Jaebum said sarcastically.

Jinyoung rolled his eyes. "Didn't I say shut up? I'll shoot you."

Jaebum was afraid of the gun still pressing into his rib cage. Really afraid of it. But he couldn't just let himself surrender to this guy, not after taking him in and allowing him a place to stay, just to end up being used.

"The neighbors will hear. If you shoot me, someone else will surely call the police." Jaebum stated, hoping to scare Jinyoung off.

Jinyoung scoffed. "And I'll be long gone by then. They won't catch me."

"They'll hunt you down. You'll go to jail. Let me go, and maybe you'll still be a free man." Jaebum stated, trying to offer a deal.

Jinyoung shook his head. "No. No you're gonna turn me in. I know how this works, and I'd much rather blow your head off than be caught."

"So you'd rather kill someone than serve a few months in prison? You'd want that blood on your hands?" Jaebum asked.

Jinyoung faltered at that, the thought of taking someone's life obviously not being something he's thought about much. Jaebum figured him out easily after seeing his reaction. The gun was just for show. He's never actually used it before.

"You've never killed anyone before, have you?" Jaebum asked, figuring that out pretty quickly.

"That's.... that's because I'm not a murderer. I may be a thief, but... I'm not a murderer. I'm not afraid to become one though." Jinyoung stated, still trying to sound threatening, but failing pretty badly at it.

So his intentions were to rob Jaebum. Jaebum couldn't figure out why though, he didn't have anything worth too much.

"Is that all you do? Threaten people with no action? All you came here to do was steal, you had no intetions of hurting or killing anyone. And you don't plan on hurting or killing me either, or you would've done it by now." Jaebum stated, calling Jinyoung out on his bluffs.

Jinyoung looked away, an annoyed look on his face. He was upset that Jaebum had figured him out so easily, and he didn't know what to do now. That's why Jaebum took that brief moment to grab Jinyoung's hand with the gun and point it at the ceiling just in case it does end up going off, so no one gets hurt.

He wrestled Jinyoung off of him, holding him tightly so he couldn't move. Jinyoung cursed under his breath, his plan of robbing Jaebum and slipping away undetected falling apart all around him.

"What is it that you want? Why are you robbing me?" Jaebum asked.

"Let go of me." Jinyoung growled, elbowing Jaebum in the stomach to get him off.

Jaebum took the blow, his stomach hurting a bit as he released Jinyoung. He backed away, Jinyoung again pointing the gun at him.

"Stay right there. Don't touch me again." Jinyoung said, making Jaebum stay seated on the other side of the couch.

"Fine. But answer my question. What the hell do you want from me?" Jaebum asked.

Jinyoung rolled his eyes. "What do most people want when they steal? Money. Something small and valuable. Don't you have some sort of electronics or something? Do you have a girlfriend maybe? Any of her jewelry laying around here?"

Jaebum shook his head. "I don't really own stuff like that. And no, no girlfriend, so no jewelry. Sorry."

Jinyoung groaned, dropping his gun to his lap. "I picked the worst fucking place to rob..."

Jaebum looked at Jinyoung, his eyes examining a spot on his neck where blood was drawn. Jaebum must've scratched him in their scramble, and though Jinyoung was a criminal holding a gun to him at the moment, he still felt bad about it. He went to move, but as soon as he did, Jinyoung rapidly picked up his gun and was back to pointing it at him.

Jaebum raised his hands in surrender, continuing to move slowly towards the bathroom. "I'm just going to the bathroom. Let me go. Please."

Jinyoung hesitated before nodding his head. "Go."

Jaebum walked down the hall to the bathroom, contemplating on whether or not he should go quickly to his room to call the police. He thought it over again and again, wondering if he should just end all of this right now and send Jinyoung to jail.

Though his compassion for the man overpwered his rational thoughts. He felt bad that someone who seemed as innocent as Jinyoung has resorted to a life of crime. All Jaebum could wonder was: what happened? How could he have turn out this way?

Jaebum decided not to get his phone, and he continued into the bathroom to retrieve some rubbing alcohol, cotton cloth, and a band aid. He returned to tend to Jinyoung, who even while holding a gun up, looked more terrified than intimidating, pulling at Jaebum's heartstrings. Jaebum could just tell that he obviously wasn't a ruthless criminal, but instead a confused guy who was lead down the wrong path.
