Jaebum sat on a chair while Jinyoung slept on the couch for a few hours. He stayed in the same room to make sure that Jinyoung doesn't attempt to do anything again, and the few hours of sleep he got were peaceful.
Jaebum decided to make some breakfast so Jinyoung would have something in his stomach before he left. He didn't know why he had this urge to take care of this guy, but it was a strong urge that Jaebum couldn't resist.
He made them something to eat and as soon as it was ready Jinyoung was waking up to the smell of food. He looked over at Jaebum surprised, his mouth visibly watering from the breakfast Jaebum made.
"Come eat. You shouldn't go before eating." Jaebum said, placing their food on a table and sitting down.
Jinyoung got up and joined him at the table, slowly lowering himself into the chair. "Um... thank you...."
Jaebum shrugged and started eating, watching Jinyoung to make sure that he eats enough too. He felt weird caring so much about a stranger, but Jinyoung was growing on him, and he couldn't ignore the little voice in his head telling him to take care of him.
"So..." Jaebum started, wanting to spark conversation. "What are you really here for?"
Jinyoung looked at Jaebum with a confused expression. "What do you mean?"
"You said you were in town for your girlfriend.... I'm assuming she doesn't exist. So what are you here for?" Jaebum asked.
Jinyoung looked offended. "What if I do have a girlfriend? Why would I make her up?"
"Because you're a liar." Jaebum stated in such a matter of fact tone.
Jinyoung frowned at the accusation. "I... you can't just call me that..."
"Why not? Don't like it because it's the truth? You lied to me. I'm not mad about it, I understand. But now I'm asking you for the truth." Jaebum stated between bites of food.
Jinyoung looked as if he were ashamed of lying, but maybe that was just Jaebum giving him the benefit of the doubt.
"I... came here to steal something... a lot of cash, okay? But it was a bust, the person I was looking for doesn't even live around here." Jinyoung explained.
Jaebum nodded, finally understanding Jinyoung's story. "So instead of leaving empty handed, you wanted to at least rob someone else that wasn't the person you were looking for."
Jinyoung nodded, unable to make eye contact with Jaebum.
"Then... who do you work for?" Jaebum asked.
Jinyoung furrowed his brows. "Work for? I don't work for anyone. I do this for myself."
"Then why are you so afraid to go home with nothing? Why do you need to steal something before you go back?" Jaebum asked.
"I... I just need to, okay? You're asking a lot of questions that will get you in trouble. Just stay out of it." Jinyoung warned.
That caught Jaebum off gaurd. He now knows that Jinyoung must be working for somebody. Why else would he be so afraid to talk about them?
"Why don't you just quit? Leave them. Do something better with your life." Jaebum suggested.
"I can't just quit. I have to do this. You don't understand." Jinyoung stated, shaking his head.
"Then explain it to me." Jaebum said, curious to hear about what Jinyoung was invovled with.
Jinyoung was quiet for a moment before shaking his head. "No. There's nothing to explain. I'm done talking."
Jinyoung got up from the table, quickly heading down the hall to go to the bathroom. Jaebum watched him, sighing as he realized just how messed up this guy's life really was. Jaebum really wanted to help him, but if Jinyoung didn't want his help, then what more could he do?
