Jinyoung still had the gun pointed at him as Jaebum walked slowly over to the thief who watched him approach carefully.
"W-What are you doing?" Jinyoung asked nervously as Jaebum stepped closer.
"You got a cut. Let me fix it." Jaebum stated, opening the bottle of alcohol and pouring some onto the cotton cloth.
"No. No don't touch me." Jinyoung said, leaning away from him.
"Come here. You shouldn't leave evidence if you're gonna get away with a crime. Blood is the worst kind of evidence, it'll lead them right to you." Jaebum said, leaning forward and pressing the cloth to Jinyoung's neck.
Jinyoung fliched and hissed as stinging pain came from the wound. His gun was now resting on his lap, though his hand was still holding it just in case anything happened.
Jaebum placed a band aid over the wound, leaning back to asmire his work. "Okay. That's better."
Jinyoung looked down at his lap, not really knowing what to do now. Jaebum noticed a few drops of blood on his shirt as well, and he realized that he had to clean that up before Jinyoung leaves.
"Give me your shirt." Jaebum ordered.
"My what?" Jinyoung asked, confusion coloring his face.
"Your shirt. Got blood on that too." Jaebum stated.
Jinyoung hesitated, looking down at the few drops of blood on his shirt. He looked back up at Jaebum before sighing, beginning to take off his jacket and shirt. He folded his arms across his chest that was now only covered by a tank top after giving Jaebum the shirt, obviously a bit self conscious.
Jaebum paid him no mind though, focusing on getting the blood stains out of the shirt. He threw it into the washing machine and added a bit of bleach, hoping that it would clean off the evidence. He then went to his room and retrieved another shirt, throwing it at Jinyoung as he returned to the living room.
Jinyoung looked at the shirt carefully before putting it on, sitting awkwardly on the couch.
"It's a bit big on you, but it'll do. Now I gotta clean up." Jaebum stated, looking around at the mess Jinyoung made of his apartment.
"What is this? What are you doing?" Jinyoung asked.
Jaebum looked at him confusedly. "What do you mean?"
"You... you're being nice. After I fought with you and pointed a gun at you, threatening to kill you. Instead of screaming and calling the police, you clean my wound and wash my clothes. The hell are you doing?" Jinyoung asked, not trusting any of Jaebum's actions.
Jaebum sighed. "Look. You're a kid. You still got a lot of life ahead of you. We may not be that different in age, but I know that you're still pretty young. I'm young too, and I've still got dreams. I'm sure you do too."
"And? How does that change the fact that I'm a criminal? My life is robbing people, and I plan on robbing you too." Jinyoung said.
Jaebum shrugged as he started gathering his items, putting things back in their respective places. "Take whatever you want. I don't care. I can still call the police, but I helped wash any evidence of you even being here away, so they can't catch you anyway. I would suggest you just get out of here in the morning and quit this. You're obviously not too good at it."
Jinyoung took offense to that, frowning. "I've robbed people before, you're not the first."
"I must be the first who's caught you then. I don't know how though, you make a ton of noise and mess." Jaebum stated.
Jinyoung sighed, leaning back against the couch. His eyes trailed over to the song book he was reading, reaching over and grabbing it.
"So, what do you do then? You a poet or something? Trying to make something of yourself?" Jinyoung asked as he flipped through the pages.
Jaebum turned and caught him looking through his song book again, walking over and snatching it away from him once again. "Don't touch this. I'm aspiring to be a songwriter and producer. Not a poet."
"Dude there's like a music agency a few blocks away. You should go work there instead of writing in your little book here." Jinyoung stated.
Jaebum sucked his teeth, looking away. "I do work there." He mumbled.
Jinyoung's eyes widened. "You do? So... you're an artist? Are you famous? I'm sorry, I don't know a lot of famous people, so..."
"No I'm not famous. I just... help clean up there." Jaebum stated as he put his song book back with his music equipment.
Jinyoung's excitement wore down. "Oh. So then... you're a janitor."
"Don't call it that! I'm just... helping out down there.... one day I'll be in the studio with my own songs." Jaebum stated confidently.
Jinyoung nodded his head. "So that's your dream, huh?"
"Sure." Jaebum answered. "What's yours?"
Jinyoung shook his head, looking down at the floor. "Don't have one."
"Of course you do." Jaebum said. Everyone has had a dream they were aspiring towards at least once, he was sure of that.
"I said I don't." Jinyoung repeated firmly.
Jaebum looked over at him, shaking his head. The guy looked tired and worn out. He's obviously been running around for a while, which is probably why he wanted to use Jaebum's house to crash. Yet he couldn't stop himself from stealing.
Jaebum could tell that he was afraid of the police too. He was afraid of getting in trouble, which was why the sirens scared him earlier. He was also confused, he didn't know what to do or where to go. Jaebum felt bad for the guy, and though he should be angry at him, he just couldn't bring himself to be.
"Look... if you wanna still crash here, you can." Jaebum offered since it would be a few hours of rest Jinyoung could get.
"You still trust me? To stay here?" Jinyoung asked, completely shocked.
Jaebum immediately shook his head. "Absolutely not. Of course I'm gonna sit in here with you while you rest. But you look awful. You need a shower and a good few hours of sleep. I can tell you haven't had that in a while."
Jinyoung looked down, thinking over what Jaebum said, before shaking his head at the offer. "You've been really kind to me Jaebum but... I can't really trust you either. You could call the cops on me any second. You could've called them already, and I'm not gonna get caught. Not today at least. Thank you for everything but... I should probably go."
Jaebum nodded. "You should go. But... I just don't feel right letting you go looking like that. I'm offering you to stay here until it becomes light outside, and then you can leave out the front door without looking suspicious at all. But if you want to go now, be my guest."
Jinyoung hesitated to leave, thinking hard about it. Jaebum could see his eyebrows twitch a little, it must be a habit he has when he's deep in thought.
"I... I guess... I should stay... so I don't look weird leaving your house late at night...." Jinyoung said.
Jaebum nodded. "Exactly. You're welcome to shower, and sleep. And change your clothes if you want to wear something else."
Jinyoung nodded, taking Jaebum up on his offer. Jaebum was glad to help, even though he was basically assisting a criminal. But Jinyoung looked wrecked by life, and if he could at least offer the guy a nice hot shower and a place to rest, then he'd be happy to have done something good for him. There was only a few more hours left in the night anyway, how much more eventful could it get?
