"Jaebum, I'm tired of this conversation. You never listen to me anyway." Mark said, shaking his head as he prepared dinner for the three of them.
Jaebum leaned on the table, his hands driving into his hair as he tried to sort out his feelings. "Mark I'm wrapped around his fingers and I can't think straight around him... I don't know if I should just make a move or keep us as friends but it's so frustrating to want him so bad and yet not have him..."
Mark sighed, dropping the knife he had to cut vegetables on the table out of annoyance. "You don't not have him, he's literally right in front of your face. He fucking kissed you on the neck for goodness sake, the universe is literally pushing you two together. It's you who won't allow yourself to accept what your feeling. Jinyoung seems pretty damn open about how he feels towards you."
"I've accepted it! I said I like him, a lot! But I don't know if he's really into me too, or if he's just being really friendly. And... I don't even know if it's right to start something between us..." Jaebum said, sighing as he pressed his face into his hands.
Mark groaned, seeming tired of this back and forth with Jaebum who just wouldn't listen. "Who cares Jaebum!? I've been telling you from day one to just stick your dick in him but you refuse to listen.'"
"Mark you're so graphic, I'm not gonna do that." Jaebum said, though the thought of it did flash through his mind for about half a second.
Mark shook his head. "I actually didn't mean it literally this time. I meant that I've been pushing you to confess your feelings to him all this time, but you always have a dumb excuse not to. Fuck the excuses and just fuck Jinyoung instead."
"You meant that last part literally this time, didn't you." Jaebum asked, already knowing how unfiltered Mark was.
"A little bit, yes. I'm just saying, you talking to me about this over and over isn't helping anyone. You need to go to Jinyoung and tell him. He's obviously flirting with you, so painfully obvious; he probably kissed your neck because he was tired of waiting and wanted to make a move. So you just have to take initiative and make the first real move." Mark instructed as if he's been through this a million times (and with his track record of past boyfriends, he probably has).
"How do you know he's flirting? I don't even know if he really kissed my neck or not, it just... felt like he did. I don't want to jump to conclusions with him and I really don't want to scare him away..." Jaebum stated, worrying more about possibly losing Jinyoung because of his attraction to the younger.
"Trust me, when he kissed you on the neck, he was terrified that it would scare you away. But since you didn't reject him; since you allowed him to do it; that showed him that he has a chance with you. All you have to do is verbally confirm it." Mark said, confident in his diagnosis of the situation.
"But, how do you know? I told you I'm not even sure if that's what happened..." Jaebum said, his words full of insecurity.
"Well pretend it's what happened. Don't jump to conclusions, but at least imagine that Jinyoung does want you as more than a friend. You need to confess, because I don't know if he ever will." Mark stated.
"Mark, it's been years..." Jaebum mumbled, worry lining his voice as he remembered the last time he confessed to someone. The last time he's ever confessed was to Mark.
Mark walked around the table, placing his hand on Jaebum's back. "Which is why you should do this. Give yourself someone to love again. Being alone isn't always the most beneficial thing."
Jaebum felt so confused and conflicted. His heart wanted Jinyoung but his mind was unsure of what to do. He felt like he could explode at any moment around Jinyoung, the younger just had an effect on him that made his heart go insane in his chest. It had been a while, but Jaebum wondered if he should really just forget his feelings and only see Jinyoung as a friend after falling so deep for him.
He knew couldn't stand that though; he couldn't bare to just ignore the rapid beating of his heart and the desperate need to show affection to Jinyoung. He just couldn't do it. Maybe now was the time to finally change something up in his life, not that bringing Jinyoung into his life in general wasn't a change, but it would be even more so if Jinyoung became more to him than just some kid off the street he was helping out.
Jaebum sucked it up, his fists clenching as he made the decision. "... fine. Fuck it. I'll do it. I'll tell him. But if he freaks the fuck out, I'm blaming you."
Mark smiled, seeming happy that Jaebum was finally making a power decision, taking control of his relationship with Jinyoung. He wanted to see Jaebum happy, and he's never seen Jaebum happier with anyone other than Jinyoung.
"Go ahead, I know I'm right." Mark assured, getting an eye roll and a middle finger from Jaebum as he walked out to go confess his true feelings to the man he loved.
