Hello,
So my hiatus from Wattpad/writing lasted A LOT longer than expected; but I really needed it. I needed a break from writing because writing was beginning to feel like a chore, I was (and still am) unhappy with the chapters I was publishing/writing. Several times, I nearly just called it quits and just revealed their entire storyline ; BUT something inside me refused to allow myself to do that.
Katie, Dominick, Mollie, Tyde, Linkon, Sawyer, and Christopher's stories are NOT done yet; and I want to explore all the things I have planned for them.
So moving forward this is what the game-plan is:
I am going to re-start/re-write, chapter by chapter, No Regrets and No Shame. YES, you read right. I am going to re-start the entire series. I want the writing style, characterization, and everything to be more consistent and well-developed (I am writing an outline for the story - everything that will happen, when it will happen, more in-depth outlines for characters so I can be more consistent. HOWEVER, do not fear, I am not deleting No Regrets or No Shame, all the chapters and content available currently, will stay available. I am merely going to be going through each chapter and editing them to better fit the narrative and everything.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR UPDATE SCHEDULE: Please forgive me, but this does mean that new content will not be coming out soon.
WHY?!!: As much as I would love for writing to be what I do full-time, I am not in a position currently in life to spend a lot of time - I know I have said this a lot and sound like a broken record but it is the truth - writing. I am going to school full-time and working 3 part-time jobs. To put it into percent.
70% of my time is dedicated to school - either attending classes or studying for them -.
25% of my time is spent working
5% of my time is dedicated to "me-time". HOWEVER, of that small 5%, 80% of it is dedicated to sleep, staying clean, eating, tending to other responsibilities (housework, bills, etc.), and spending time with family.
This means the remaining percent is the time I have to write/outline/do everything I need to do.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR CHARACTERS/THE STORY: This means that characters - as you know them - may change. I have already decided to re-do/re-write a pretty significant part of No Regrets. To better fit my own feelings and my own ideas - I confess, some things I wrote into the story, I wrote to please/meet the desires of my readers -.
The big events (if you have read No Regrets, you know what big events I am referring to) will NOT change. Those are concrete. All that will change regarding events is that I will add/remove a few.
To further explain, regarding events in the story I ask myself 3 questions:
1) Does it change the direction of the story or shape characters?
2) Will the story be incomplete without the event?
3) Why do I want to include this scene?
After answering these questions, I make a final decision.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: What I hope you all (the readers, who I really appreciate) can get from these re-writes/changes, is a better/more enjoyable reading experience and story. I hope that the characters will become even more alive and real.
Thank you everyone for your continued support, it means the world and is honestly the reason No Regrets was ever finished in the first place/why I have returned. I love reading all your comments (yes, I read every single comment) and replying to your messages. Thank you again.
I am excited/ready to get back into the Wattpad world.
