I gently placed he sky blue quilt over the rim of the white crib, smiling softly at the finished nursery. It was complete and ready. The walls were painted a light, baby blue, and the carpet was a gentle grey. Thin, silk curtains covered the windows so they were ready for nap time. There was a creme colored rocking chair in the corner, along with a changing station and dresser. The closet was empty at the moment, but soon, it would be filled with baby toys and clothing. I sighed and happily left the room, shutting the door behind me. Nesting complete. I noticed Olivia, who sat at the table, scribbling notes for her homework. It happened to be math. Her face grew red with frustration, "I just don't understand!" "What is it? I can help, I wasn't in school too long ago." I giggled gently. She took a deep breath and pointed to a problem, "These stupid equations." I examined it, "Ah, that's what you did wrong. You didn't add six on both sides on the equal sign. You have to balance it out, what you do on the one side, you have to do on the other." She made a sound of recognition as she reworked the problem, then getting the right answer. I gently kissed her cheek, "You're so smart." Olivia smiled and tapped her pencil against the table, "When do you think Dad is going to get home?" "He left?" I frowned, "I didn't know." She gave me a concerned glance, "He left like thirty five minutes ago. I thought he told you." I shrugged it off and grabbed some bread from the pantry, "Do you want a sandwich?" "PB&J, please!" She smiled.
The door slammed shut, scaring me as I dropped the plate into the sink. I sighed in relief, "Chase...it's just you." I giggled gently, "You scared me." He stumbled around the kitchen and ripped open the fridge, "What's for dinner?" "I already cooked, but there's some leftovers in the fridge you can hear up in the microwave-" "I just had the greatest sex in my life." Chase drunkenly chuckled, rubbing his face with his hand as he smiled. I slowly turned to him as I dried my hands, "E-Excuse me?" "You heard me." He smirked, "She was a skinny blonde, and she had the moves. I haven't felt like that in a looonnggg while." I stared at him as he stumbled about, trying to find his footing. He's drunk, I concluded, he doesn't know what he's talking about. "She's the hottest thing I've ever seen, in a while at least-" "Who the fuck do you think you are?!" I shouted, "You go off, get drunk, and go have sex with another woman, and your pregnant fiancé doesn't even know you left our house!" He frowned, but then flipped it into a cocky grin, "Are you jealous that someone did better than you ever could?" I quickly stuck his face, the slap thundering through the house. "How could you do this to me?!" I shouted, "I loved you!" I shoved his chest, "I'm engaged to you!" I shoved him again, "I'm having a baby with you!" And again, "I slept with you! I left everything behind to BE WITH YOU! I left college! I left my friends and family! I left JAMES because I loved you!" And again. I weakly shoved him again before I collapsed into pain and tears. He only watched. "Why would you do this to me?" I sobbed with shaking hands. I suddenly felt dizzy and nauseous. "(Y/N). Are you okay?" He cautiously asked as he held his hands out to me. I gripped onto his t-shirt as I whimpered in pain, "Something isn't right." "D-Do I need to call an ambulance?" He panicked. I quickly shook my head and pushed myself away from his drunken body. I leaned against the wall and bit my lip as pain surged through my body. Chase pointed with a shaking hand, "Blood..." I worriedly looked down, and he was right. Blood dripped down my thighs, staining them with a crimson red. "C-Call an ambulance!" I cried loudly.
