Kong had managed to doze off for a barely a minute when the alarm blared near his ear, like… life couldn’t give him a moment of silence!

“Come on, Kong, it’s our first day.” He felt M trying to shake his arm to wake him up, not realising that Kong had just returned from his shift from the convenience store.

“Yeah.” Kong sighed, getting up while his roommate and best friend had left to shower.

The heaviness and the drowsiness in his body was so familiar to him that it would be a surprise if one day he felt fresh and ready to looking forward to a morning.

His eyes felt puffy and his body was screaming exhaustion yet he had to get up, this was the first day of college, he should be looking forward to it!

He rubbed his eyes vigorously before he got off the bed and started to gather his new uniform, it had been so long since he was going to be wearing something new.

But it had costed him half a month’s salary, but he wouldn’t be complaining, since atleast he wasn’t going to be paying for the college fees, it was scholarship afterall.

“Get showered or we’ll be late.” M came back while slipping into his own uniform.

Kong nodded, not wasting much time as he freshened up and gradually the two walked to the hall where they had to meet the seniors, he never truly understood the whole SOTUS system but atleast he could attend it and see for himself.

But as the meeting progressed, he realised how much he was going to hate this, a certain senior named Prem was the Head Hazer who was way too arrogant, he even was about to end up in a fight with another hot headed classmate of his named Wad.

Prem had demanded the juniors to get signatures of all of their seniors within two weeks which was near to impossible.

And even though Kong pretty much was supporting Wad for speaking up but he felt the need to stop the argument so he stood up and tried to politely point out that it was impossible but the head hazer seemed to not like it at all and started to shout at them, demanding them to do 200 push-ups right there.

Kong was about to shout at the hazer this time when his voice was cut by another rather authoritative voice, he immediately looked at the boy standing by the end of the rows of hazers.

He seemed like any other hazer with his uniform and yet there was something about him that stood out, Kong couldn’t really point out what, but it made him fall silent rather abruptly like everyone including the Head Hazer.

Kong felt like he should never mess with this guy out of all, it was as if this guy carried this intimidating air around him even though he hadn’t even uttered another word and yet his gaze that was fixed on him made him want to run away from the whole gathering altogether.

“We want no arguments, this activity has to be performed or you don’t get the gear. Prem, don’t dare raise your voice at him.”

His words were simple as that, and his tone was as ordinary as possible and still Kong felt like it carried such dominance that even the Head Hazer was silent and looking down at his shoes while Kong took a second to realise that the hazer had actually referred to him.

Prem backed off while the other hazer walked to him, Kong moved his hands behind his back, not wanting the hazer to realise how his hand slightly shivered a little by the proximity of the senior.

Kong swallowed down his anxiety while maintaining the eye contact with him, not wanting him to realise that he actually felt a little intimidated by him.

He couldn’t risk looking like a scared sheep infront of seniors or they’ll treat the juniors even more  pathetically, even if it meant he might just be murdered by this guy.

“0062, Kongpob.”

“Yes.” Kong answered, his gaze not wavering yet he felt powerless under the senior’s intense gaze.

There was a sudden silence while the whole gathering fell so silent like there was no one even present except for the two, staring into each other’s eyes, trying not show any kind of emotion.

“Next time, don’t dare utter another word in the gathering, follow whatever is said. We are your seniors, respect that.”

Those were simple words spoken as clearly as possible but Kong wasn’t going to settle for that despite how scared he felt and spoke up just as the senior had turned to walk back.
