“It’s a boy, a beautiful baby boy, just like his mother, just like you, want to see him?”

The midwife asked, Achara had wanted nothing but to see her son's face, but something was hurting her, she was loosing her vision, her breathing was rapid and the midwife immediately got it, screaming other nurses to look into what had happened.

The last thing Achara remembered was her little boy that she couldn’t even touch before she felt herself succumb to the darkness to never wake up again.

It all had happened just a few hours back, Sirichai had rubbed the biggest betrayal on Korawit by getting all of Korawit's empire to fall into his hands, deceiving him and Korawit was too blind with his trust over his best friend, and now he was paying the price, sitting in a dingy little hallway while his wife was delivering their child, they had managed to escape from their own property while Sirichai had been left to look around the city to get to them, Korawit still had the blood drying in his palms from where he had stabbed at Sirichai's arm, surely to leave a scar.

But now he waited in that dirty place where even his servant wouldn’t have let his wife give birth in.

“It’s a boy, Mr Suthiluck.”

If it wasn’t for this loyal maid who had taken them into hiding, just when they had escaped, Achara's water broke, so they had been just on the mercy of this midwife.

It was as if this baby was born to mark the changing time, to mark something tragic and threateningly massive.

Korawit was so reluctant to hold that baby that was wailing no matter how comforting the midwife's arms were, Korawit feared the curse that this boy was born with.

But eventually he took the baby in his arms, the baby was still crying his ear shattering wails, he had entered the world loveless and in reluctant hands, how was he going to survive?

Korawit swore, he’ll teach his son never to trust anyone, raise him for revenge against the Rojnapat.

This boy will never love, never trust, will be sharp, will be merciless to traitors and merciful to those in need, he will bring down the Rojnapat Empire to rise as the greatest victor ever. He will be the revenge.

“I’m sorry…. Mr Suthiluck….”

Korawit turned to the midwife who was sobbing in between her words.

“What happened, Earth?” He asked.

“ We couldn’t save your wife..”

Those words struck so hard against Korawit’s chest just where his baby was trying to find some kind of warmth against him.

For the first time, the mafia don was in tears, quivering and sobbing silently with the boy that had entered the world with no warmth, loveless.

The only person he had ever loved more than anything in this world was now dead.

He was startled when he felt the baby trying to grasp his finger and soon he heard some shouts echoing from somewhere far.

“They’re here!” The maid whispered in panic to him.

His own men coming to kill him.

Korawit had money for his head, he looked down at the baby, his wails subsiding once realising no one was really here to tend to him.

“I’ll keep you safe.” He whispered to the boy in his arms, letting the midwife wrap the baby ever so warmly and safely in a blanket, Korawit couldn’t even turn back to have a final look at the love of his life before he fled away from the place with the baby in his arms.

Korawit ran and ran until his feet started to hurt, his hands bleeding from his previous wounds and cuts he had received from Sirichai, it had started to rain, as if the sky was crying for the fate this heir had brought with him.
