Kong knew there was no way out, he had to trust Chiya this once.
Despite how betrayed he felt, he knew he had no way out, they had no way out, if he didn't agree with them… they’re going to arrest them, and Kong wanted to do anything, go to any extent to protect Arthit at the moment.
It was as if he was walking on a thin line between two active volcanoes, he was going to burn either way, it would be better he could lessen the damage as much as he could.
And no, he couldn’t risk telling about any of it to Arthit.
He knew how easy it was for Arthit to get enraged, how impulsive he was, how bloodthirsty he turned.
He couldn’t risk it.
Not when Arthit’s life was at stake here.
He had always suspected it…. The way Knot looked at Chiya….
But never had he expected this.
He realised just how much Knot loved Chiya, ready to go through hell if she asked him to.
Kong didn’t even know why he was thinking about them when they had so harshly betrayed them, they were rats!
He should be hating them, they were traitors!
And yet he knew they were right.
“Please stop the car.” Kong uttered abruptly, spotting the familiar park by the lake out of his window, the driver made the car come to a halt at once, looking puzzled as he turned to him.
“Just… take the car back, I'll be back on my own.” Kong uttered while getting out of the car so fast like it was suffocating him to be inside it.
He looked ahead at the park, he had passed by this park so many times, had been around here when he was still living in that orphanage, he remembered how he used to walk extra slow from his school to his orphanage just so he could sneak up for some time to just sit alone in silence in this park, and Kong needed nothing more than some silence for now.
Kong found the green bench of that park still there, still empty.
Kong tried to swallow the lump forming in his throat as he walked to the bench, hesitating before he sat down and watched the view ahead, some of the parents were here with their kids, laughing, enjoying their time, Kong looked past at the lake, shining under the sinking sun.
Kong tried hard, really hard but this feeling wasn’t going to budge.
He was going to betray Arthit.
Arthit was born with the worst fate, surrounded by traitors.
Would he be able to understand?
For how long will Arthit be punished into this mess?
Chiya…. Whom he literally wanted to save from this cruel world, how much had she gone through….
Kong felt his eyes stinging, he tried to remember his past…. How much of him had he left behind to be here, never once turned back to that, the orphanage, the college, gosh…. He had even lost his contact from M who still hadn’t returned back to college, how was his mom doing?
Kong tried to distract himself, to think about anything else, and yet he felt like that thirteen year old orphan trying to run away from his trauma and just smile admiring the scenery of this park, and yet Kong, knowing who he was now…. Was tearing him apart in a way he couldn’t even explain.
He felt his vision blurring and before he could stop himself tears trickled down his cheeks, he couldn’t even explain what was really hurting him, the fact that he would’ve to lie and betray Arthit’s trust or the fact that this all will go down, this whole empire that Arthit was trying to do everything in his power to keep it steady.
