The soft low beats that blasted in his ears through the earphones felt kind of nice. His hands were covered with the acrylic paints but he wasn't bothered by it.
Arthit smiled softly when he stared at the finished product. His heart tugged when he realised how beautiful it felt... Something he finally completed after working for the longest time ever.
He removed his earphones while leaning back and just admiring his painting for a moment, this was so beautiful, how would Kong feel if he saw it?
Gradually, he got up and stood by the window, staring outside, there was nothing out of ordinary, it was early in the morning, Arthit had spent the night painting because he didn't feel like sleeping.
He watched the kids in their uniforms leaving for school, adults leaving for their jobs, it was nothing out of the ordinary but it wasn't something that stopped being interesting for Arthit.
It made him understand the importance of having a life where everything was okay, nothing needed to be out of the ordinary for it to feel better. The smallest of things in this life meant something greater eventually.
It was as if slowly, by the passing months, Arthit was trying to relearn life.
At first, life to him was like something he had to get through because now he didn't have a choice anymore but eventually.... Life had started to take it's own shape and Arthit was going back and forth with his thoughts, revising and relearning his lessons about life, about himself.
He was slowly but steadily getting acquainted with Kongpob all over again.
As soon he was struck by the thought of Kongpob, Arthit reached for his empty coffee mug and made his way outside of the room.
"Hey." Kong smiled warmly.
He groaned internally when he saw Kong was already ready in his full sleave tee shirt and dark jeans, already prepared the breakfast. For once Arthit wanted to be ready before him!
"Hi." Arthit said before their dog Hope, now a little grown in height, hopped in excitement on seeing Arthit started to hop around him.
Arthit smiled before he kept the cup at the sink. For a moment he couldn't believe that Kong was excited and ready for a little day by the park.
It was like any evening, Kong had been working on his laptop at the kitchen table while Arthit was bored and switching through the channels on the tv. Arthit's thoughts had wandered off to the conversations he had with his counsellor these past few weeks.... He really needed to talk to Kong.
"I was wondering if you are free tomorrow?" He had uttered, though he didn't show it but he felt nervous.
Kong had looked up, confused, because it wasn't everyday that Arthit wanted to talk to Kong. Most of the days, Kong was the one who started conversations and get like four or five words out of him.
"I could be, what do you need me for?" Kong asked.
That was the problem with Kongpob, he didn't care about his own self, nor his work or anything in this world over Arthit, it was as if Arthit was his first priority over everything and it made Arthit feel a strange kind of guilt all over again.
But then he remembered how Dr Lee had said that he couldn't understand Kong until he talked to him....
And Arthit really wanted to know Kong through every thought that ever passed him, why he loved the way he loved? From where did Kong gain that courage to have so much love for the world around him even when it was so cruel to him for so damn long?
