It Never Made Sense To Me

If only he could turn back time, just by a day, maybe Kong would’ve done things differently, maybe he would’ve never thought of following Arthit that day…. Maybe he wouldn’t have been here if he could’ve turned back time.

Kong didn’t know how to fight anymore, he had already felt his will dangling when Arthit had brought up the most horrible part of his childhood and then, all the things  that Arthit had threatened him with, his will to fight had succumbed faster than he had expected.

At that moment, all Kong wanted was to save himself and his friends from whatever this monster might do to them, because Kong was sure that Arthit was capable of doing what he had said.

The Rojnapat property was massive, and running 50 rounds was excruciatingly exhaustive, he probably would’ve completed kilometres after kilometres for all he cared, but Kong couldn’t risk it and stopped only when the 50 rounds were complete, completely drenched in sweat from head to toe.

He walked into the same garden, his legs shaking with exhaustion, he felt like he could pass out any moment and Kong no longer cared as he flipped and fell down on his back to the grass with his eyes up, staring at the clear sunny sky, he covered his eyes slightly with his hand as he stared at the sky, as if wanting for some kind of sign, he observed his hand that was covered in cuts and bruises.

“Hey!”

Kong turned his head to the direction of the voice.

It was the girl from earlier, the one who looked way too close to Arthit when Kong had came here earlier.

Now what did she want from him?

“Get up, you must be exhausted.” She said as she walked to him, extending her hand at him while Kong just laid there, contemplating whether to take her hand or not.

“Where’s Arthit?”

“He has left for some meeting, now, come on.” She said.

Kong was still contemplating, staring at her hand that was open to him.

“Come on, I don’t bite!”

“But Arthit-”

“Arthit hardly cares right now and he won't stop me from helping you,  you better hurry to your feet.” She said with a little annoyance in her tone and Kong gradually took her hand as she tugged at his arm and he got to his feet.

“Come on.” She said as she walked ahead and Kong slowly followed behind.

The girl was beautiful, there was no doubt in that, but she had this air of weird confidence, she was wearing a rather short dress when he had seen her earlier but at present she was wearing a cute shirt and a loose overall, well bathed and she smelled of fresh shampoo even from the distance.

It made Kong feel even more of a mess realising he was stinking of sweat.

He followed her as she walked into some kind of a rather amazingly well maintained modern mansion, Kong was a little awe struck as he looked around, the lights around gave a more golden vibe to the whole place, the decorations weren’t too much, just perfect.

A huge painting hanging by one of the walls that made no whatsoever sense to him, he found himself staring dumbly at the painting, on looking closer, Kong could make out a dark figure in that painting, there was some kind of angelic light surrounding that figure.

“It never made sense to me.”

Kong was interrupted from his thoughts to look back at the girl who was currently putting down plates on the dining table, glancing at him and the painting past him with a sweet smile.
