“Are you kidding me right now? Do you know how dangerous a bodyguard's job is?” M said, concern coating his words.

M didn’t even know the danger they all were in.

But Kong had managed to make a good enough reason, lied to M that Arthit had offered him a job as one of the bodyguards and that he would be away to be trained well, and that was the reason for the little bruises that were visible.

Well, Kong hadn’t been partially lying but still it was more of deception than anything else.

“Dude, your dream is to become a bloody engineer? What is this 'bodyguard' nonsense?” M looked quite frantic to stop Kong from packing his stuff as they were back in the dorm, Kong was grateful enough that M hadn’t asked him why he had hugged him so tightly as soon as he had seen him, still M wasn’t well anyway, still depending on the crutches, maybe a few more weeks before he could stand on his feet without much support.

“Well, I'm here, it’s just that the money from this job is higher than all the shifts I'd done in the past! Do you get it? I’m just earning more and still pursuing my dream.” Kong tried to nonchalantly shrug his shoulders while thrusting the books rather roughly in his bag.

“I get it.”

Kong sighed internally, if only M knew that Kong wasn’t even thinking of anything more than saving his neck.

“You slept with him, didn’t you?”

Kong almost froze as he glanced at his friend who sprawled back on the bed.

“What?”

“You slept with P'Arthit, didn’t you? You were out all the evening and night, I’ve seen how you seem to like Arthit, and it’s not unknown to any of us, the way you came with him today, in his car… I mean, after all the struggles you’ve gone through, you deserve someone like him.”

'You deserve someone like him.’

The way those words broke down in Kong's head, he felt intense rush of rage, some kind of rage he had never felt before and he felt his knuckles turning white with how painfully his hands had turned into fists.

“You know what? To hell with you!” Kong shouted way too loudly at his friend before zipping his bag close, slinging it over his shoulder and storming out of the room without another glance, anything to get him out without his rage bursting over it.

“What the hell, Kong!”

He heard M shout, probably getting to his feet with his crutches and Kong tried to breathe but it was hurting so bad.

“Kong!”

“Piss off!” Kong  yanked away M's hand from his shoulder while M looked a little too shocked by how his friend had reacted.

“Why are you overreacting, Kong?”

“Overreacting? Do you have any idea how messed up your thought is?! I just work there for god’s sake!”

Do you have any idea how much he was going through?

“Okay, calm down, it wasn’t a big deal! I was just trying to support-”

“If you really want to support me, just keep your bloody mouth shut!” Kong hissed, his eyes turning bloodshot red, and he froze a little seeing how M looked scared of him for a moment.

As if he wasn’t the same Kong M could talk to.

Kong swallowed the lump forming in his throat realising he had never fought like this with him ever and how heart-breaking it must be, how he had never spoken so loudly, never even been angry at him out of all people,

“Just…. Take care.” Kong managed to utter before leaving his silent and shocked friend to himself.

Kong sighed internally when he found Knot sitting by one of the tables at the canteen and Knot nodded at his direction before taking a seat beside.
