Chapter 24 - Decades Dance

So after a damn headache of calculus it was finally lunch time and I was in line with Elena getting cafeteria food

"Do you have any idea what to dress as tonight?"

Elena asked me. I laughed at her

"I'm only in the mid 50's of my history book, I haven't a clue what to wear"

I said in a whiny way. Elena giggled

"Don't worry, I'm sure we can find something that'll suit you"

She said as the lunch lady put some sandwich on her plate with a thing called a salad and an apple.

"What is this a bush?"

I asked with a raised brow. She laughed

"It's a salad. Made with vegetables. Lettuce, carrots, cucumbers and you can add a dressing to it for taste. Like ranch, blue cheese, Italian, French. Here, try the ranch. It's really good"

Elena said putting a packet with the word Ranch on it. We grabbed a water bottle from a cooler next to the food line with ice and walked to the table where Bonnie and Jeremy were sitting

"Hey Jer. How you doing? Are you okay at the house alone with John?"

Elena asked as I sat down next to Bonnie

"It's not ideal"

Jeremy said grabbing his bag and standing up

"You haven't heard from Jenna, have you?"

Elena asked

"Looks like she's staying on campus. Look, I'm uh, I'm late for class"

Jeremy said in a brooding tone and walked off. Elena was dumbfound but sat down on the other side of Bonnie

"What's going on?"

Elena asked with a confused smirk.

"I told him he had to dress up tonight and he got all uptight"

Bonnie said rolling her eyes with a smile

"You both have dates? Bloody hell, who am I gonna go with? I'll be a laughing stock"

I said biting my lip

"I know this sounds crazy but you could go with Damon"

Elena said looking at me. I sighed

"Right, after I just told everyone they're my brothers. I'm pretty sure these kids will make fun of me for going to a dance with my brother"

I said groaning

"Well if Tyler didn't disappear he probably would of gone with you"

Bonnie said shrugging

"Who?"

I asked confused

"Oh right, I don't think she met him. He's a dog, if you know what I mean"

Elena said wiggling her brows...werewolf.

"Oh. I see, well that's alright, I'm not going for a date anyways. I've never been to a dance, or anything like this so I'm very excited"

I said smiling.  They both smiled at me but our moment was interrupted by the same girl who answered Alaric's question this morning

"Hey, Jessika, there you are. Okay, this is going to sound freaky, but this totally hot guy just asked me to ask you if you're going to the dance tonight"
