Chapter 25 - One Step Ahead

So Damon kind of ditched me next to Alaric and since I didn't really have a date, I didn't have anyone to go off and dance with..something about Alaric gives me chills and I can't figure out why...

"So you didn't have a date here?"

Alaric asked me bringing me out of my thoughts

"Huh? Oh well, Damon and I-"

I turned to look at Damon, and he was dancing with Elena...

I looked around and saw Stephen talking to Caroline and Matt. 

"Oh..I guess..he's dancing with Elena right now. Well that's fine, I don't really like to dance anyways"

I said shrugging with a smile

"Oh I doubt that. I bet you love a good waltz"

He said smirking. My eyes widened, thinking about Klaus and I..and all the parties we attended doing the waltz..

"Oh um...well..I haven't really done that...in a long time..so...I'm probably no good at it anymore"

I said rubbing my arm nervously. 

"Come on, dance with me"

Alaric said smirking at me. I blushed, my eyes widening

"What? I'm a student here, regardless of my age, wouldn't that be rather inappropriate?"

I asked with a raised brow

"One dance isn't going to hurt anyone"

He said rolling his eyes with a smirk. I bit my lip looking around seeing everyone was dancing..

"Well...I guess...one dance wouldn't hurt"

I said and he smiled

"Great. Follow me on the dance floor"

He said as he began to walk through the crowd. I sighed, following him until he stopped near the exit where it wasn't as crowded. 

As he turned to me, he held out his hand, I stared at it, biting my lip nervously

"Don't be shy, I don't bite"

He said smirking

"Says the vampire hunter"

I said with a narrowed look. He chuckled

"I only kill bad vampires now come on"

He said still smirking down at me. I groaned and took his hand. The second I did, I froze, seeing Klaus in my mind for a brief moment. I slowly looked up into his eyes...and gasped

"No...how-"

I tried to pull away, but he pulled me close and began to slow dance with me

"Don't be afraid love...you know I'd never hurt you..at least not intentionally"

He said with a small chuckle. I glared up at him then looked away

"Let me go. Now"

I said bitterly, looking up at him. 

"Look, I just want to talk..that's why I'm here..I've missed you...so much"

He said gently gripping my face. I pushed him back then looked around

"Don't you bloody dare tell me you miss me. I don't want to hear that..you had me and then you left me! I was dead for 1000 years! I should kill you where you stand!"

I said trying to pull away from him. I tried to use my magic, but nothing was happening

"Sorry love, my witch put a protection spell on me..you can't hurt me...Come on love, just take a walk with me up and down the hall once, and I'll go"
