Chapter 13 - Aurora

(some time later - Court of Marseilles)

For a while we were happy...
Nik and I were deeply in love, things were good, or as good as they can be for vampires hiding in plain sight.
Everything in the the seilles was held in the count's arrogant son Tristan...
and his sister...
Aurora..
There could have been so many things that Nik could have done to prevent where I'm at now...
but you can't reverse a life...let alone an immortal one...
- - I was watching Elijah throwing axes at big wooden target, I clapped for him as he hit the target, and when I looked over to Nik, who had been carving something out of wood, Lucian had walked over to him and handed him a note....and when he took it Nik walked off...
Later that night, I woke up in bed, seeing Nik was gone...I got up and put a robe on....and when I went out my door I ran into Lucian...I gasped but he covered my mouth
"Do you hold the same fears I do for Nicklaus and Aurora?"
Lucian whispered to me. I looked at him... despite the candle lit hallway, he looked like he hadn't slept a wink, his hair was messed up and he looked as if he'd been crying
"I don't know I..I have to find out though because he isn't here and he's been acting distant"
I said and he nodded
"I shall take you to Aurora's room then"
Lucian said taking my hand. He led me to her room and I stopped...my heart shattering...
"No!!"
Lucian said loudly. They stopped and looked at me. Nik saw me...and his eyes instantly filled with guilt
"Jessika...I-"
"No!"
I yelled angrily as tears fell
"This is not what it looks-"
"Enough lies!"
I yelled
"We trusted you!Both of you!"
Lucian said walking up to Klaus
"Quiet!I'm meant to be in prayer!If anyone finds you here-"
"Prayer?! That is what you told them so you could have what WAS ALREADYmine?!"
I yelled shoving her. She gasped stumbling back a bit bit Niklaus stepped between us.
"Jessika no!"
Nik held me back as I went to kill her
"Let me go Nicklaus"
I yelled glaring at him
"Jessika you'll kill her. I can not let you go"
Nicklaus said looking down at me with sadness but his head snapped the the right.
"It's too late. The guards are coming"
Nik said never taking his eyes off of me.
"My hand maids must have seen them enter... Well if the guards know then Tristan himself will be informed!"
She said looking at Klaus
"I will deal with them"
Nik said gently taking Aurora's hands...
my heart felt like it was bleeding out as I watched their Sickening display of love
"No Nicklaus he's my brother"
She said desperately.
"Do you think he cares?Do you not know what manor of man you're with? He is a beast!" Lucian said with glassy eyes.
"Lucian!My friend"
Nik said and held his finger up as Lucian backed away
"We are not friends!"
Lucian yelled and I got in front of him
"I thought because all that we've been through things would be different...I thought maybe, just maybe because we share the same curse you would love me in return for the way that I have loved you. But Not once but twice you've betrayed me! No more!You are never to touch me, look at me, or speak to me...ever...again.I will leave with Lucian tonight. You can have your always and forever but I am out!"
I yelled shoving Nik. He gave me a sad longing look
"Jessika I never meant for this to happen..we were drifting and-"
"No!Do not feed me those lies!We were drifting because once again you can't deny yourself from a pretty face. The guards are coming and I'm leaving.He's all yours Aurora. Now neither of you have to sneak around"
I said as I went to turn
"My brother was the issue...you were never a threat"
Aurora said smirking. I stopped in my tracks
"Aurora....get behind me"
Nik said dangerously. I smiled bitterly as my eyes glasses.
"Let's go Lucian"
I said coldly, taking his hand but Lucian fell to the floor and started bawling
"Are you bloody joking right now?!Ugh!To hell with the lot of you!"
I yelled and stormed out. I walked past Tristan and he grabbed my wrist
"What?!"
I asked as the tears flowed.
"Who has hurt you?"
He asked gently, taking a step closer to me as the guards surrounded us. He wiped my tears. I closed my eyes and then looked down, before bringing myself to look up at him
"All I should say is...your sister holds no competition in the game of love"
I said and ran off crying.
