He said something to me, but I was too busy getting lost in his eyes to notice. I blinked hard and looked away. ‘What?’ I asked, hoping he hadn’t noticed that I was staring at him as intently as I was. He rolled his eyes ‘Doesn’t matter.’ He mumbled.
‘Tell me.’ I whined. What was I doing? I needed to ignore him, not encourage him to talk to me more. Where was Courtney when you needed her? I’m not used to not having someone to hide behind.
He let out a small sigh. ‘I have detention for a week because of you.’ If a weeks detention is what our school calls a ‘serious punishment’ and says that ‘violence will not be tolerated’ I’d hate to see what other kinds of pathetic punishments they had if anyone actually was violent to someone else.
‘A week is nothing.’ I said with a slight smirk. He rolled his eyes again.
‘How long are you in for.’ he asked.
‘Just today.’ I smiled.
‘What for?’
‘’Cause Mr Fletcher is a dick.’ He laughed at that. His smile sent a couple of shivers down my spine.
After that we stopped talking. A few minutes had passed and I got bored of checking my phone for non-existent messages. ‘I’m sorry for getting you detention.’ I said quietly. He replied with a loud sigh. He was slightly facing away from me. I couldn’t stop looking at him. I don’t understand. Blonde haired, blue eyed boys are seriously not my thing, but I just couldn’t look away. Stop being stupid Jen, you have Spencer! The most popular boy in school! Why the hell are you even looking at anyone else!
‘Do you hate me?’ He suddenly asked.
‘W-what?’ I wasn’t expecting him to say anything. ‘No I don’t hate you, I don’t even know you.’
‘...Ok.’ he replied. Looking away again.
A few minutes later the teacher who was meant to be watching us came back. ‘I have to deal with something very important so your detention will have to finish early, even though I see that it finished even earlier for others.’ She sounded irritated. I was so annoyed that I could have left so long ago and had missed coffee with the girls for no reason. Me and Luke left the room and walked out of the corridor and towards the gate. ‘At least we got out earlier than expected.’ I said. Why am I even talking to him? Shut up Jenna.
Luke was about to say something when I heard someone shout me. I turned around and saw Spencer, I changed direction and started walking over to him, making sure I didn’t look back at Luke. ‘Hey baby.’ Spencer said whilst wrapping his arms around me. ‘Who were you walking with?’ He narrowed his eyes at me.
‘No-one. We just got out of detention early.’ I replied.
‘It better be no-one’ He said raising his eyebrows.
‘It was definitely no-one.’ I replied, feeling my heartbeat speed up slightly.
