We decided to go the mall since it was only a 20 minute drive from my house. We wandered round the shops having small aimless conversations. I made sure not to look at him too much since I didn’t want him to figure out that I had a crush on him. Since my whole reputation would be ruined if anyone found out.

After a while we decided to look round by ourselves since the mall was closing in an hour. ‘I’ll meet you at the entrance in an hour, ok?’ he said whilst we were walking in opposite directions.

‘Sure.’ I replied.

I bought a new mascara since mine had nearly ran out. Then I bought two nail polishes, one was pink and one was silver glitter.

When I got bored of looking round shops I checked the time. 20 minutes left. I decided to go to the smoothie bar. I queued up and ordered my usual, strawberry and banana. When my drink had been made I sat down at an empty table. I scrolled through Facebook on my phone, seeing what everyone was up to.

Over the noise of everyone in the smoothie bar I heard a familiar laugh. I looked up. My heart fell out of my stomach at what I saw. Spencer was sat a few tables away from me looking into another girl’s eyes, the way he used to look at me. Then he leant in and kissed her. I picked up my half finished smoothie, stomped over to his table and emptied it all over him.

I promptly ran out of the smoothie bar, tears streaming down my face. I could hear Spencer running after me shouting my name. I knew I wouldn’t be able to outrun him since he’s on the football team and I’m the least athletic person ever. So I ran into the girl’s bathrooms so he couldn’t follow me any further.

I locked myself in a stall and cried. Trying to be as quiet as possible. After a while I heard the speakers booming ‘Please exit the building, the mall closes in five minutes. Thank you for shopping with us.’ I left the stall, no-one else was in here thankfully. Since my mascara had ran down my face and my skin was blotchy and red. I looked a mess. I was a mess.

I made my way to the entrance of the mall, honestly I was disappointed that Spencer didn’t wait for me to come out of the bathrooms. I didn’t want to speak to anyone, but I had to since I’d have  no way home otherwise. I saw Luke stood at the doors and I walked over to him. He looked shocked when he saw me, since I’d obviously been fine an hour ago.

‘Are you ok?’ He asked sounding worried, a few creases appeared on his forehead.

‘I don’t want to talk about it.’ I said sounding exhausted.

He drove me home in silence, with the radio on so it wasn’t as awkward. As he stopped outside my house and I went to get out of the car he said ‘I’m always here if you need to talk.’

‘Thanks.’ I said stepping out of the car and closing the door. My mom’s car was in the driveway so I made sure to run up to my room so she didn’t speak to me. I couldn’t face anyone right now.

I logged onto Facebook.
