When did money start to take control
of your mind?
be the deciding factor of your success
to choosing a life less than what we both know you're capable of
was it when you said you loved me
when we argued because in the beginning i didn't believe you
or
was it when you decided to leave?
and i recovered every word spoken
to find nothing to say otherwise
than the feelings i thought you held for me
and control you still have over me
though
you've left for a life without me
while i pursue a different road
one that you'll never travel
because you gave up freedom
for another without the spark to ignite you.
