34: new year's

Jennie's POV

"Come on jendeukie lets go!" Jisoo said stubbornly, tugging me away from the couch while i desperately held onto it.

It was the new year's eve and our company was holding a party to celebrate. Jisoo came over my house all dressed up and now she was trying to get me to go as well.

"No unnie! How many times must i tell you im not in the mood."

"Come onnnn it'll be fun." she insisted and i groan.

"You know, what we did was fun.. but i didn't think this through. Taehyung still works for the same company as i do! Oh my god it'll be so awkward to see him or worse he might try to murder me for removing his eyebrows!"

Jisoo laughed at my remark. "Oh come on, that jerk probably resigned from his job in shame so you don't have to worry about it. Plus, its a company party! He wouldn't dare try to do anything with so many people around. And i'll be there to kick his balls if he does."

I sighed in defeat as Jisoo continued to pester me.

"Arasso arasso! I'll go shower and change."

"YESSSS! I'll call chaeyoung."

"Chaeyoung? You're inviting her to our company's party?" I asked incredulously.

"Yeah... well... actually... we sort of uh.." Jisoo said and blushed.

"Okay whatever i don't wanna hear about you lovebirds." I said and rolled my eyes. I knew that Jisoo and Rosé had been calling back and forth the past few days and there was something going on with the both of them, to be honest ive never seen my jichu so happy my entire life so i was glad that she had someone who cared for her and she wouldn't die old and alone like i thought she would.

Jisoo grinned. "You're just jealous ive got a girlfriend now and you don't."

"Pfft jealous? Why would i be jealous of you? Lisa is so much better than–" I said without thinking then clasp my hand over my mouth in shock.

"Ohhhhhhh i see where this is going alright." Jisoo said smirking annoyingly.

"Yah whatever!" I covered my face and stormed into the shower, ignoring my bestfriend's loud teasing.

As soon as i undressed myself and turn on the water faucet, letting the cold water stream down my face, my mind instantly drifted to the idiot monkey. Where is she now? What is she doing? And did she really mean it when she told chaeyoung she's coming back? Will she come back for me? Does she miss me? Ever since i heard the revelation all i could think about was her. I wanted to look into those beautiful brown eyes again, her perfect features. I wanted to hear her call my name. I wanted to feel her touch on my skin. The way it burned in passion and heat, the way it made me crave for more. I swear if i ever see her again, i'll never let her go. Not ever again.

"Wow jisoo unnie you look... amazing." Rosé muttered gaping at the sight of her woman. I rolled my eyes and shoved them both into the car, not wanting to deal with them being lovey dovey with each other while i thirdwheel. I can't believe i agreed to go to the party, i wasn't in the mood to interact with people and i have to put up with the chaesoo couple. Ew is this how people look like when they're in love? I shuddered thinking how cringy i must've been in the eyes of others.

We drove in Jisoo's car to the company. I made sure that Rosé was seating in the backseat with me so that they wouldn't be doing anything sneaky at my presence.

As soon as we arrived, the sound of meaningless chatters and gossip filled the air, followed by clinks of glasses and basically what every typical party would be like. We squeezed our way through the crowd and Mr Yang spotted us from the other side of the room, making his way towards us. I grumbled as i saw him, i already knew what was going to happen. He was going to drone on and on about what a fantastic year it has been and how much the company has done and just brag about all the past achievements in his lifetime which i didn't care about.
