Negan's POV:

I woke up at about 7:30. I didn't put Judith in her crib last night so she slept in bed next to me. When I looked down she was curled up and cuddling my side. Her thumb was in her mouth and she was gripping her monkey in her arm tightly. I pulled her closer to me and watched her sleep for what felt like forever.

She looked so damn cute. I loved the way her little nose looked and her baby ears were so small. She was just so cute. I'm  so happy I'm able to raise her. I made a promise to myself that I would protect her no matter what. To protect her even if I was dying. I promised that I would protect Carl til I died. That's all I want.

I was going to protect Miranda too. She's with Carl. Carl's with me. She's my responsibility. It wasn't anything I couldn't handle. I love Carl and I'd do anything for him. He's my son even if he didn't come from me. He was mine and I was gonna raise him and Judith as my own.

Judith began to fuss slightly when I tried to move to get out of the bed. I wished I could stay there all day but I had to do stuff and thangs. Despite her fusses, I managed to get out of bed and place her in her crib.

She woke up slightly and moved around a little. Once satisfied with the crib, Judith fell right back asleep. I got in the shower and dressed for the day.

After I was dressed I headed downstairs to the cafeteria and grabbed breakfast for Carl. We were going to go on a run somewhere new. It was a community Simon had found a while ago. I haven't been there before because I've been busy with other stuff and thangs.

I was going to give my same speech I gave to Rick and the gang. Hopefully I didn't need to kill any more people than I had to. I did feel pretty bad about number 2. It didn't have to happen. Number 1 was on me though. I had to teach Rick a lesson.

I grabbed the breakfast and headed back upstairs to Carl's room. First I checked on Judith to make sure she was still asleep, which she was, fortunately. I knocked softly on Carl's door but no one answered. I figured he was still sleeping but I came in anyway.

He wouldn't mind if I hung out while I waited for him to get up. When I opened the door there was a pile of girls' clothes on the coffee table. I looked over to the bed and saw Miranda in Carl's arms and Carl holding her tightly.

I smiled to myself and made my way to the couch. I set the tray down next to the clothes and sat on the sofa. I pulled out a piece of paper with directions to the new place and examined them to keep myself occupied. I began humming a random tune and was soon lost in the paper.

Carl's POV:

I woke up to Miranda in my arms  and smiled at the sight. She looked so peaceful when she slept. She was just so peaceful in general. I'm so glad she's mine.

I closed my eyes and sighed heavily. I thought I heard humming but I didn't think anything of it. After a while the humming continued and Miranda began shifting in the bed.

"Carl?" She asked in a groggy voice. "Yeah?" I asked in return. "What the hell is that poking my back?" She asked, not even looking at me or even opening her eyes.
