Okay. Another episode of The Blabbering Author. But i hope this could help.

First of all im not a vet. Meaning im really not suited or im not in position to say this. But im saying this out of my experience and my research on the internet.

So about 2 weeks ago, i got bitten by our rabid dog (dog infected with rabies virus). In all honesty, i developed a phobia on dogs, well not the phobia to the extent na ayoko makakita ng aso. But every damn time i see a dog, a dog barks at me i get really scared. Im anxious to that possibility of getting attacked by a dog, rabid or not. And also, i got a paranoia, na baka hindi umeepekto yung vaccine sa akin. Up until now, im scared kahit inaantay ko na lang yung april 5 na last session ko.

So, just a warning... be a responsible dog/pet owner. Make sure na vaccinated sila (one thing we werent able to to for our dog) and itali sila  make sure na hindi sila basta basta malalapitan ng ibang stray dog. Make sure na hydrated sila. Paliguan. And most of all, be aware. Just be aware. Based on my searches, it is not necessary na nagpapakita ng signs ng nauulol na aso yung aso para maging positive rabid dog. Kaya kapag isesearch mo sya, there will never be a result na ULOL na aso. My dog was really sweet and playful before that incident. But at that day, aggresive sya sa ibang tao (yes, tinatahulan nya yung ibang tao noon but never naghabol ng tao. Yes, tinatahulan nya yung mga pusa namin but he never attacked them.) Pero noong araw na yun, he killed 5 ducks, 1 puppy and he attacked our kittens (he forcefully pushed the door through his head. Kapag nakikipaglaro yan he can actually shove us...)

So yun. Dont be complacent. Kahit ang pagtamlay, pagkawala ng gana, pagiging extra aggresive ng aso... it can be a sign. And even after getting your dog vaccinated, after getting bitten, it is always better to go to animal bite treatment center na malapit sa inyo. (One vial of anti rabies vaccine can only be effective for one day-24 hrs- after opening and its good for 2 people. 1,200 yata eh.

And please. Wag kayo magpapatandok. My mother was bitten by dog.

Plus, kung hindi nyo kaya, you can actually ask for help. Sa congressman ng district nyo. Kuha kayo ng medical certificate after getting vaccinated sa Day 0. Then punta kayo sa brgy nyo. Hingi ng certificate of indigency. Punta sa DSWD or sa Malasakit Center (our hospital has one. Hingi kayo ng tulong, there's nothing wrong with doing so. Nagbabayad ka ng buwis. Provision yan ng government natin.)

Then sundin strictly kung ano man ang sasabihin na schedule sa inyo. Kung naobserbahan yung aso, kahit nabuhay pa sya, better complete the session. Safety guys ang pinaguusapan dito. Rabies is fatal. It is fatal. Pero wag kabahan, basta pa-vaccine lang ha.

😊, Bon.

(Ok. What prompted me to do this. Una, ayun na nga. Rabies awareness month din yata. Summer din, which it usually season ng rabies talaga. Next? My experience. Takot talaga ako. Kahit sa mga pusa ko ngayon, i get very jumpy pag bigla nila akong lalapitan or susubukang makipaglaro sa akin. Third? Now, you can debate na ganon ang ugali ng aso na nakatali, they want to break free 😉 pero yun nga. Tapos may sugat daw yung aso eh. Sa may back part daw ng aso, same as our dog. He has wound,im not sure if kagat ng aso din or what kasi gabi before that doon sya naglagalag daw at nangaaway ng mga aso or any hayop na makita nya. So baka sinugatan na din sya ng tao or im not sure kung baka doon sya nahawaan (which is why we should tie our dog, really). My theory is baka merong stray dog, na originally rabid na nangaaway, nangangagat sa mga aso na hindi namin alam dito sa place namin.)

Again, just beware.
